Gnaw Wolves sleep out in the middle of nowhere, where predators can get to them.

The female, wolf mix pads to a small pile of bones to grab another. Eska grips a larger one in her jaws and carries it back to a patch of sunlight she has been following. She spread out in the sun and started to work on the bone. She was careful and made sure she was doing her best. I don't need an attack for a bone. She thought.
She gazed down at her finished bone. She smiled, it was one of her best. Picking it up, Eska pads to the finished bone pile and throws it on the very top. Her more curved tail wagged, she looked up at all the bones she has done. The piles shadow served as her shade in the hot suns ray. She decided to get one more done before taking a 'break.' Her 'break' was going to main area and seeing if any help was needed. In that time she usually got beat and nipped but after all her gnawing her jaws were soar. It was good enough. On this bone she did a bunch of tiny details. She threw the other finished bone into her pile and padded to the main area. ((Next post at main))
Eska, the wolf mix pads into the gnaw wolf area. She placed the bones down and stretched out her back in a low crouch. She stands and shakes out her pelt. She closed her eyes and tipped her head up to the sun. "I glad I'm the only one." She said quietly.
Solstice hid among the shadows and eyed the Gnaw Wolf. She squinted her eyes and pricked her ears as she heard her say something to herself.
She disappeared into the bush than came back with a piece of bark. She laid it on a rock so she could break it. She had been trying to build up strength. She spun around and gave the bark a kick with her hind legs. It broke and splinters of wood flew around the open area. She than pushed the big chunks back into the bush and went to her pile of bones. It took her only a few minuets to finished a perfectly carved bone.
She ducked her head, hardly dodging a splinter. She fumbled under her breath.
Eska raised her head and looked around. Not seeing anyone and not bothering to look she started on another bone.
Solstice scoffed quietly. This wolf was so boring. Is this really what she did all day?
Solstice debated whether to come out and introduce herself. She wasn't really the heartfelt kind, but this wolf looked lonely.
She yawned and placed all the bones into the finished pile. She had been doing this so long she was almost on auto pilot. She padded around in bored circles wounding if they ever ended.
She shrugged to herself and slowly emerged from the shadows, purposefully snapping a twig under a paw.
She lowered her head and turned around. She saw the female that had seen her in the camp. She flickered her ears and didn't speak. The higher was supposed to speak first.
She sat down. "Hmph. Nice place you got here." She looked around, showing no emotion.
"Yes. At least I have a 'place'." She said and watched as the wolf sat down. Not being able to read it she shifted uncomfortably.
She gave a small smirk. "Dont be scared.i can kill you, but Im no assassin."
She swished her tail against the ground, creating small clouds of dust. "What's your name?"
She gave a small grunt. "Must suck being alone..." She looked around.
"I'm used to it." She said quietly and shrugged. She glanced around as well. "May I ask.... What is your name?"
She twitched her nose then grunted. "That is for me to know, and you to never know."
Eska quickly turned and left the wolf on her own. Can't ever meet a nice wolf. she thought to her self and glanced back to the wolf.
She couldn't help but chuckle. Everyone was always so intimidated by her personality. Her way of things. And it really wasn't her fault that she wanted her name on the DL.
Eska heard the chuckle but didn't do anything about it. She sat down in the shade of the bone pile. Her curved tail wrapped around her paws and she licked down her fur. It was disturbing to hear that she could feel her own ribs as she licked her sides.
Solstice craned her neck slightly. She noticed the way her sides stuck out. "Hungry aren't ya?"
"Always." She replied, the way wolves acted always confused her. One minute they were nice and the next the were threatening to rip your throat out while you slept. She stopped cleaning herself and gazed off into the open area. She decided she wouldn't grow close to this wolf.
She nodded slowly. She respected how closed off this wolf was. Though she wasn't much fun to annoy...
She watched the wolf. She rarely talked and didn't have much social experience to help. She could tell the wolf saw thinking. Suddenly a butterfly flapped over to her. It sat by Eska's paws. Than the little thing then fluttered up to her head and sat by her ear. Using the ear as a wind blocker. Eska didn't mind, lots of animals hung around her.
Solstice was amused by the insect by her ear. Eska didn't seem to mind... Solstice couldn't stand anything relying on her other than her alpha or someone above her who told her what to do.
The butterfly took of into the air and flew up into the sky. Eska watched and tilted her head up till the little thing disappeared. She sighed and shook her head.
Solstice couldn't help but think that this wolf was weak. So weak...
She looked back to the wolf and saw it looking at her. She didn't dare ask why. Turning she went to find something to do. Doesn't help to sit around all day. she thought and walked deeper in to the gnaw wolf area.
She wondered what the wolf was like. She followed silently.
Eska picked up her sped. Somehow she was surprisingly fast. Her legs were merely a blur in the green open expanse. She jumped over a slight ditch in the flat land and kept on.
She matched her speed, but only barely. She slunk quickly, dodging the occasional tree.
She turned her head and saw the wolf. Distracted she ran right into a large bush. Her white pelt disappeared into the dark green leaves. She kept on running when she looked back she noticed what happened and stopped. She saw a path in the thick growth and followed it. It lead to a small stream.
Solstice couldn't help but laugh. "Ah. You remind me of my annoying sister."
"Thanks." She called from in the bush. She came back out. She noticed her head held high posture and quickly lowered it.
She snorted. She approached the wolf and flipped her tail over her face as she e walked by. "Please... dont flatter me and make a fool of yourself at the same time."
She pulled her head back to a good height. "Okay...." She said quietly than asked in a louder voice. "Your following me... Why?"
She thought for a moment. She really didn't want to tell the wolf why she was stalking her. That she was only slightly lonely. That she was just bored. She ignored her. "Hm. What do you do out her anyways?" She twisted her nose in a show of disgust.
She shook her head. "Nothing."
"Your pretty confusing." Eska says, watching the wolf that she has yet to learn the name of. She noticed what she said and thought it would offend the wolf. "I mean, uh, it's.... It's not ba- I'm sorry." She says confusing herself.
She rolled her eyes. "Oh please. I was born and people were immediately confused. 'Why is this mutt of a pup alive?'" She mocked. More to herself than anything.
Eska wasn't impressed, like all the other times today she left the wolf. She weaves back into the bush and followed the path the the river where she usually went to sleep rest. She jumped onto a giant rock and settled down in the sun.
She walked to the rock and sat down in front of it.
