I will be recruiting some new moderators to this group to help me out! I would like the group to have at least three more mods. Please fill out the application below and I will announce who will be moderator in a couple of days or in a week. I will not announce it now because I need to see if the people who applied are actually being active in the group :) Please will the form out as detailed as possible; the more you write, the more of a chance you have at becoming a moderator!

I would like to become a moderator for this group because I live and breathe books. They are my life and I don't have the most friends-- I have books. I really like being a moderator on my pages and it is a great way to talk to new people and learn more about what other people like to read.

I would be a good moderator because I love books and I love getting opportunities to meet more people and create new friendships with others from Goodreads.

I don't have any suggestions as of now :)

Awesome! I actually just realized the buddy read folder a minute ago too!

1) I love to read, and I seem to have the same problem on Goodreads of being on it so much that I have really neglected reading lately, but I want to get back to it!

2) I would love to be a moderator because I think it would be a fun way to meet new people and help out, I can also usually think up new threads quickly to help :)

3) Not really, I love this group so far, I have not seen anything that I would change, if I do though I will tell you my thoughts and reasoning.

4) I just joined this group, and actually this is my first comment. I would love to continue to be a part of this group though as I relate to the "not been reading much lately" point.

5) VERY active, I think I am on Goodreads at least 5 hours a day which caused me to realize I have been neglecting to read hahaha.

6) No sadly, I have always wanted to be a moderator but nobody I know has been looking for one so I have not been one yet.

Is there a deadline by which we must do this application? I want to be a mod but I just want to get a better feel of the group and get to know everyone first.

There is no deadline, just try to apply in the next couple of days. Also, you can answer all the questions, and then come back and edit your post as you become more active :) It's your decision!

Reading books is a passion of mine and I would love to share different types of genres to as many people as possible. I love would love to pass-on the 'reading fever' to as many people as possible.

I love to make people discover new/older books that aren't necessarily well known and have enthusiastic discussions about it after reading

Sadly, not any yet. But as the group develops and grows, hopefully I'll be able to come up with something helpful

Q1) I would like to become a moderator of this group because I love coming up with new ideas and recommending books to other people and I feel this is a perfect group to do that in. I'm that person in a bookstore that when someone picks up a good book I start telling them all about it XD.

Q2) I think I might make a good moderator because I'm active every day, I can help people find good books and I love to help out whenever I get the chance.

Q3) i) Have an entire group read based on polls where members get to vote on which books they would like to read
ii) Have a trivia day after each group read where members can write trivia questions and everyone can have fun figuring them out
iii) Have celebrity name games, book title games, riddle games etc.
iv) Host a summer read a thon full of challenges and reading sprints for each day.

Q4) I have only joined this group yesterday but I really like this group so far and am planning on being in this group for a very long time.

Q5) I am on goodreads everyday for multiple hours. I love participating in groups that love to talk about books.

Q6) No, I have not been a mod in any groups.
I have a disadvantage to other people who have already been mods and I respect that. Ultimately, I joined this group to have fun and not to become a mod but I think it may be a fun experience.

Thanks everyone :) I have sort of an outline as to who I'm going to pick to be moderator, but I will wait until Friday to make sure everyone who applied is being active. If you aren't that active in the group, you will not have a very big chance to become mod. Here are some things you could do to raise your chances: make suggestions, enter challenges, welcome new members, invite your friends, join buddy reading groups, recommend or review books, etc.

Cleo, you could choose a title! People already know you're mod because it says "Mod" under your name! Your title could be anything (e.g. Awesome Mod, Funny Mod, Blahblah, Potato, etc.)

Well then I did not notice that I'll have to get creative...

I would like to be a moderator for the group, because I am very organize, I can help the other moderators out with some of their duties, so that we all don't get overwhelm doing too much, and I can come up with fun and creative ideas for the group.
I made some suggestions in the suggestion thread and I'm always thinking so I'm sure I can come up with some thing new. I am a creative person by nature, so it shouldn't be too hard to come up the ideas and suggestions. I do think we should make this group from some of the other groups on GR. Find something that will make us special and unique.
I just join the group recently, but am already pretty active doing some of the monthly challenges, and have made a few posts.
I am extremely active on GoodReads. I have a ton of books lists that I have read, am currently reading, and plan on reading. I am also a member of serval different groups. I love the quote of the day feature!
No Mod experience, but I am a good leader and team player.

We currently aren't accepting moderator requests.
