How do you get your books !? Do you buy /borrow books !!?

I usually borrow from a local library .Not so big ,but still good enough .
When book fairs happen here in Chennai , then i buy from there too apart from second hand bookstores !

If you buy from a bookstore ,do tell us the name too so that next time we can also try out there :) #Happyreading

I usually buy it online from Amazon, they have really amazing deals. Almost all my books are bought from Amazon. I've bought few books from second hand stores too, especially the classics.
Other than that, I also borrow them from my college library, it's pretty huge so most of the books are available there.

I, too, love Amazon. I never check other website.
So either it's a paperback from Amazon or e-books.

My college library has only heavy and dusty technical books, which bore you to death.

I used to be a total Barnes and Noble - aholic! I would always go in and find something I'd want! I prefer perusing shelves than internet pages. But not this year! This year I'm only getting books from my TBR and my library!

I rarely do buy books online and don't prefer ebooks ! They just dont give you the feeling of a satisfactory read !
In fact I buy books from second hand stores and landmark showrooms ... The library at my college has books related to college only! So even college library is a no-no. The british library here doesn't even have the books I wish to read !

Hey Manasa! You are lucky to be in Bangalore ! Ive been to the british library there ... I dont think anyone would need bookstores when you have that kind of library there!

Yeah, Amazon is the only website where you get books at very low prices. I love ebooks too, that's how I started reading and then started with Paperbacks. My college library has all the books you'll find in a bookstore, it's like another crossword :P

Blossom Book House is pretty good here in bangalore. It has good collection of second hand books.

Landmark etc sell books at very high price. You can get same books much cheaper online.

I'm from Bangalore and used to borrow my books from JustBooks. But its expensive to maintain membership there. Lately reading most of the stuff on Kindle. Again Amazon is the place to buy my eBooks.

Any public library in South Bangalore anyone can recommend?

I am from Bombay but whenever I am in Bangalore I visit this awesome book place called Blossoms, they have got collection of over 2 lac books and you can find many second hand books at discounted rate. I really don't prefer buying books online until and unless, there is a book which I can't find at any book shop around.

I used to buy a lot of books while travelling or from local book stores. But then, I got a Kindle and everything changed. I asked my cousin to take Kindle Unlimited Subscription in the US (Indian subscription doesn't have a proper collection). Some I buy. And my cousin sends some to my Kindle.

Don't have words to express my thanks! Went to Blossoms this weekend and I was speechless! What an ultra awesome and pocket friendly collection. Had a gala day.... plus the Indian Coffee House is just opposite to it ;)
Bought English August second hand for 180/- ... which was 300+ on Amazon.

Noticed few books of which second hand prices were also higher than amazon's original. For instance My Gita by Devdutt Pattanaik (MRP 295; Blossoms 250 new, 200 old; Amazon 147). Whatever I bought from Amazon at 50% off, all were higher priced at Blossoms.

What made the major difference was browsing through books. There couldn't be any comparison for browsing books online to a local store :)

Really? Didn't know Kindle Unlimited's collection of books is country specific.

I get my books from a librarian named @Arpit ...hehe

I get most of my books in person from Chapters, but also shop online a lot on Amazon (both .com and .ca).

Sometimes I borrow, but a lot of times I buy from used bookstores. Recently, I've also been reading ebooks that I check out through the library.

I have heard of The Chapters . Not sure whether they are in India though !! *sigh*

Hi buddies,
During my early years, without paying much heed to sweltering heat as well as cats and dogs, I used to step into book exhibition spots and bookhouses, only to get upset, as the ones I yearned were never found out and the available ones could never win me either.
However, with the advent of technology, things started standing by me, I relish myself, reclining on an easy chair, legs swaying and head nodding, with the smrat phone inside my left palm and the right hand fingers twiddling over its touch screen to explore the world's largest online store for books,the one and only Amazon. Whether be paperback or kindle edition my hunt invariably ends up there, with positive results most of the times. Thus my treasure hunt, my unquenching thirst for the literary passion continues...

I usually buy from Amazon. I get my second hand books from the Sunday Market in Delhi near Red Fort. I also buy from Book fairs if these are happening in the vicinity.

I always order them online. I love to put them on my bookcase so I don't really go to the library
