Make sure your suggestion (challenge, trivia, poll, etc.) is complete (you can develop it on the 'drafts' thread). Then, wait for it to be approved by a mod!!

We should play a book Monopoly. The mods can develop a board with different types of books to read and different books for a certain genre on a "genre" board. People can go around, complete a challenge and move on to the next square after completing a review and posting on a review thread. The person or team (however this would be done) with the most points wins.
For challenges, there should be a poll at the end of a month and people can vote on the next challenge. That would be cool to do one month, and then others they can be a surprise.

I just read through the help/contact thread and I noticed that there's a concern with the new members not being active. I think we should have a team challenge asap. I am personally more active and even chat more during a team challenge. I think it'll help get more members to participate in the group. We could do a challenge like this: ICE BREAKER CHALLENGE
-Go through a team member's bookshelf (it can be in any shelf) and find something you want to read then read it. Then post a review and receive 1 point
-5 points (or some point number) to every team member that at least read 1 book from each of their team member's shelves.
-Extra points for buddy reading.
-This could be a month long challenge.
-Whichever team has the most points win. You can even do 1st, 2nd, 3rd place if you want.
I think we should also have some kind of monthly buddy reading calendar. The mods could make a thread for whatever month this is and have the days of the month listed in the first comment. Then people can just post the date, link and title of the book they're buddy reading. Then the mods can add the book next to the date. The mods can also reserve the second and third comments to post the links for the book buddy reads. It's a lot of work for the mods but I think once you have more mods, then it should be doable. I like having a calendar for buddy reading. It helps keep track of everything and other people can see what people are reading and when. They can also join the buddy reads that were already set up.
Buddy Read-A-Thon Challenge. Similar to the buddy read. The first or last week of each month members, who sign up to do the challenge are then partner up. Each pair will then make a list of either books they've read or a list of their favorite genres. The catch you have to read the books your partner lists with in the given week and they do the same with the books you lists. I think this would be a great way of 1 getting us to read books we might never have thought about reading. 2 getting to know one another better (what better way then through books, whole point of this group right?) and 3 to give some of us that little extra push to finish each month on a good reading note.

Do you mean like doing the challenges based around some kind of theme? Because I was thinking the same thing. if yes, then I think we should go with your idea since you posted first.

Madelyn, love the book Monopoly idea! Although it seems a bit complicated right now, so I will start a thread when I have the time :)
Nicole, I also love your idea! But I think it's a little underdevelopped right now, so I will work on that and maybe that will be our challenge for next month...
Janessa, ahhh so many great ideas!! It is kind of similar to Nicole's idea I believe, so maybe we could find a way to combine those :)

I agree with the poll idea--I have that on my group, and it seems to be working well...

Hey guys how about in the future we could do a Finish what you started challenge. How It Will Work:
1) post a list of 5 series that you have Already Started but now, you would like to get current on. There must be a minimum of TWO books remaining in your series.
*When listing your series, please only list the bookcovers in the series you have NOT read yet.
**Novellas are optional.
2) An assigned person will pick ONE series from your post series.
3) You have one month (or more) to try to read as many books in that series as you can—minimum two books in that series. (*if you don't, it's okay because this challenge is for YOUR ENJOYMENT)
^^ or we can add more time
4) Please try to select for your pair ASAP as we all get excited and waiting is torture to some. FAILURE TO PICK FOR YOUR PARTNER WILL BE NOTED!
