April Challenge- Bingo
I'll join as well, i'd like to be on a team, and prefer the regular board.
I'm in! I'd like to be in a team please! I like both boards. Do we only get to choose one? If a book has characteristics of two boxes on the board, do they only count once or can they count for board. For example, if a book is funny and a best selling book, can they count for both?

...are we all on one team? if so, which board are we doing?"
We'll have to see when Madelyn comes back. It doesn't start till the 4th, so she might be waiting for more people to join.

Hey! Sorry I didn't update yet. So I am creating several different teams. Any board is usable for any person on any team because they both have the same number of squares.
You can complete one board or two boards at once. You would be able to check off items from on two different boards, just not two boxes on the same board. (hopefully that answered @Nicole's question).
Just to let you know, when posting reviews and saying what box you completed, be specific please! You can use letters like "A1" or just say "top box on the far left."
Teams will be released within the next couple of days. If you have any more questions or I didn't your question, please don't hesitate to ask me!

I'm good with either board but would prefer the regular oneI dont mind working alone or in a team (if one team's missing a person you can use me to help even them out but if not I can be alone too)
I'll join, both boards (if possible) and I don't mind working alone or in team
This sounds fun, I'm hoping that I can get one that will allow me to read Lady Midnight for a point, I was planning on reading it anyway.

Yeah, I know the young adult book board has a "first book in a series" square, so you could definitely read it :)

Teams are now posted! https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
If you would still like to join, you still can join until the end of the challenge!

It has come to my attention that I need to explain something better:
Each person can select either the regular board, young adult board, or both boards to work on. If your team would like, you can work together on one board or both boards. Whatever option you do, every point from every person will be counted for the totals. As you may or may not remember- one square complete is one point, completing a bingo is one point, and buddy read is an additional point. I am also adding the rule that a blackout on any board, no matter what option is three extra points.
If anyone had a question relating to that, hopefully that helped!
If I confused anyone, go back to your understanding you had earlier :)

forgive me for asking, but what exactly is a bingo and what is a blackout? I'm not familiar with the game >_<''
A bingo is completing five squares in either a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line. A blackout is when you finish every book on the bingo board in this case (complete the board).

If you read a book with other members in the group (or even different groups and you provide the link), and post updates as well as talk to them about the book (like a book club), you will receive and additional point on top of the point you get for finishing a book and posting its review.

Where do we post the reviews of the books we read? Do we post it to a discussion or just our own profile

You would post the review on your own page and copy the link to post in your team review thread.

Can we use the books we are currently reading that were started in march or are the books started after april 4th the only valid ones?
I'm going to have to pass for now because I have a few personal things going on, but it should be fine in future challenges.

Just to let everyone know, every time a review is posted, I will try to update the scoreboard :)

This challenge will run from April 4th-April 30th. Each book you finish is 1 point, every time you get a bingo is 1 point, and a buddy read is 1 additional point. If you blackout the board, that is three extra points. Note: A blackout can be if an individual blacks out a board, or if your team decides to work on a board/boards together and blacks out a board, you will also get the three points.
Books must be 150 pages long, 450+ pages will get an extra point.
Comment any questions and if you want to participate.
Note: Each team/person (if solo is needed) will get a review thread to post their review with specific details. If there are team/people want teams and there are enough participants, there will also be a team chat thread.
