India saw the Farm just ahead in their sights. "Wow. It's really nice." she said, breathless. She hiked up her backpack and kept walking. "All intact, too."
Gerald walked up to the barn with his rifle over his shoulders and a cigarette hanging from his lips. "There's lots of supplies too," he said.
"Essentially untouched." India agreed. She heard a rustling. Could be an animal, could be something else. Something dangerous. "Alright, don't get too comfortable. We have to clear this place out. Barn first, then the house, then the storeroom. Should be easy enough." She was more worried about the house, which basically guaranteed some undead.
Gerald nodded he opened the barn door while keeping his gun ready. He walked in and checked the corners. He shot on zombie in the head. "First story clear," he said. "Get ready to to the 2nd," he warned.
Gerald knelt down and pointed his gun at the 2nd story of the barn. "The barn. Do you want to head up or should i go up?"
"I can do it." India said. She jogged up the stairs to find an empty barn attic. "Nothing here." she called down. "But there are tons of box- oh!" A zombie jumped out from behind a pile of boxes and she instinctively shot it down. She made sure there weren't any more.
Gerald almost shot at India as the zombie jumped in front of her. "Try not to lower your guard. The house is going to take a lot of caution," he warned. He turned around and watched the front doors fot any walkers.
Raiden gave her a quick glare before running to the house. He saw several zombies thtough the windows. "There are definitely somenin there," he said.
India nodded. She ran to the porch and opened the door, then backed up. She jumped off the porch and into the grass, shooting the zombies that came out, entranced by their scent.
Gerald shot at a few zombies before the exited the house. He ran inside and cleared the living room. "There's two rooms and a basement. Each of us should take a room, i got a surprise for the basement," he said with a slight smile.
"Sure." India went upstairs and took care of the zombies in the master bedroom. She stayed quiet in case zombies were around.
Gerald ran up to the 2nd room and daw that it was empty. "All clear," he said. He went down stairs and holstered his rifle. He went by the basement door and opened a pouch. He pulled out a grenade and got ready.
"Woah, where'd you get those?" India whispered. She stood at the top of the basement stairs and crouched.
"I found a few on a body when i was exploring a while back. This is the first one im using," he said. He pulled the pin on the grenade and through it down the stairs. "Grenade!" He said as he dove out the way.
India jogged outside and waited for the blast. She got out a lighter and started a bonfire, tossing in the zombies' bodies.
Gerald checknout the basement after the blast and checked everything out. He walked to India and sat doen next to her. "What now? Rest for the night and start working tomorrow?"
"We haven't cleared the storeroom yet." India said. "I don't want anything wandering up to the house." She dragged another body into the fire.
Gerlad nodded. He grabbed a body and dragged it into the fire. "This is quite the bonfire we have, huh?" He joked
"Better than the Superstore." India agreed. After a couple minutes, she got up and started walking towards the storeroom.
Gerald walked right behind her with his rifle in his hands. Henlooked around at the wide open space, trying to come up with a vision of a settlemeny.
"We have a lot to do." India said, glancing at him. "Tomorrow, we're going to use the wood in the storeroom and start building the wall. It might take a week, maybe more."
Gerald nodded. "We need to start small before we think big. We can always make additions to the wall later," he said. They came up to the storeroom, Getald raised his gun.
India opened the door slowly and saw a figure slouched over. "Looks like there's only one of them." she said quietly.
Gerald shot the last zombie in the head. He holstered the rifle and draged the body into the fire. He sat down and watched the sunset.
"Nice." India said. She looked inside the storeroom - there was just enough to build the wall. She walked back to the bonfire and took out a book on carpentry - it would help them later. She started reading.
"I think I'll pull an all-nighter and read this." India said. She continued to flip through the pages.
Gerald reloaded his assault rifle and handed it to her. "If you are going to stay up all night, you might as well be doing guard duty. You'll also need a bigger gun," hr said.
Gerald nodded. "I'm gonna get some sleep. If yoy change your mind, wake me up," he inforned as he unwrapped a sleeping bag by the fire and lay in it.
((Timeskip))
Gerald snored lightly through the night. He woke up the next moring and stared at the sky.

India had let the bonfire go low, but kept it going. She didn't want it to burn out. "Bright and early start?" she asked. "I read the book. It was boring but it helped a lot."
Gerald sat up and looked at her. "Did you get any sleep?" he asked a bit worriedly. "You're not going to be able to work as efficiently."
"I got a lot more sleep than i usually do," he responded. He looked through his bag and pulled out 2 cans if food. He tossed one to India.
She nodded and started eating. She flipped the book open to the section on building walls and showed it to him. "We have enough boards."
"Exactly." India said. "I want it to be tall, and once we go on our first supplies hunt, we'll find some steel to reinforce it with."
"Also, on our supply run, I want to find some people to come join us. The work load here is for at least six people." India said.
((Yeah, ill fast forwrmard to the night, and the wall should be finished by then))
Gerald tood uo and looked at the wall. It was large and impressive. He was quite surprised himself.
