Aside from being one of Bowie's favorite books, where else do you see the influence of The Master and Margarita? Please, feel free to share any material that may be interesting to those who liked the book and want to read, watch a movie, etc, with a similar premise.

Also, let's try to imagine why Bowie loved this book and if it left any traces on his work...

I think I was about 22 years old when I read TMAM for the first time. At the time I was still pursuing my dream to be a journalist focused on the cultural sections of newspapers. I used to write for this magazine (music section more specifically) in which I had a column based on people's "addiction" for lists. So, I had to make a list of the 10 most interesting literary influences in music. While doing my research I found out about this book which supposedly inspired the Rolling Stones' Sympathy for the Devil... I read a bit about the plot and I was hooked. I bought the book on the first chance I got and it is one of the most fascinating things I have ever read.

Another band who has a song inspired by TMAM is Franz Ferdinand with Love and Destroy.

Wow. I know that TMAM is Simple Minds' favourite book, both Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill.
