I wish this was March challenge. I read Miles Davis last month and thoroughly enjoyed it. the movie comes out this month. It seems like I have read about every jazz legend so far

I selected it for this month because apparently there's some jazz festival that takes place during this time so I thought that'd be fun.
Here are a couple of fiction books where jazz played a role in the storyline - all take place during WW!!Half Blood Blues - Black jazz musicians caught up in France when the Germans evade
Night in Shanghai - Black musician caught up in Shanghai when Japanese evade
Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet - takes place in Seattle and the jazz scene when the Japanese were evacuated

These are great recs, Beverly. You got me curious so I looked for others:
There's a list here on GR of "Jazz fiction"
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/7...
of these, Twelve Bar Blues looks interesting and has a 3.94 GR rating.
I look forward seeing what you all decide to read.I recommend Miles: The Autobiography
here is the link to the movie preview

This looks like a lot of fun. My hubby is a jazz musician. The only book that comes to mind for me is Beneath The Underdog Helluva book!
Now I wish I'd waited to read Twelve Bar Blues until now, but it was a virtual catalog book, so it wouldn't have worked. At any rate, for others, this would fit this topic, since not only is it structured like blues, it incorporates the history or the start of jazz.

This month's challenge will be jazz, read a book that has something to do with this musical style.
