Utsav Sinha (uutsav) | 2 comments Read a few of Manto's short stories some time back. Quiet touchy with stories revolving around the partition and all.

Have anyone of you read Rehan Per Ragghu ? It was a good satire on family ties and social structure.

I'm yet to read Manto. I've heard many great things about him.

@Gorab- I've heard that he's known as "Premchand of Pakistan". Wanna try someday?

विकास 'अंजान' (vikas_nainwal) | 151 comments Hi,
thank you for inviting me to the group. Manto's stories are being narrated in the radio mirchi show from some time now. You can hear the stories here:

Yep go ahead !! I forgot to add Harishankar Parsai's name in the list.

He is the best satirist in hindi. There is a page in facebook which posts parts of satire. You can follow it to get your daily dose of परसाई।

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

Yep, the first half was awesome. Although I had some issues with the storyline, but it was a great read.

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

There's also a English translation of Gunahon Ka Devata, named Chander & Sudha. Although I'd still suggest the original text.

message 36: by Pranjali (new)

I suggest if you want to read it, then read it without any expectations. There have many books in my case which i couldn't enjoy that much because i picked them up with lot of expectations.

message 42: by Gorab (new)

Gorab (itsgorab) | 3110 comments Ya that happens a lot with me. Expectations kill. Isiliye I try to stay away from reviews (and even blurbs) before reading.
