I have finished the 1st 10 chapters! When you are ready to discuss, I'll be ready too... LOVING the book!!
I've read the first 10 chapters. I'm really enjoying this book. I don't feel like I know enough to say much about it. I like the characters and the story is very interesting. But it's only the beginning of the story & there's so much I want to know. I love that it's a thick book too. P.S. I can't wait to learn more about Bast, even though he's not really who the story is about. And I'm really enjoying Abenthy.
When the "scary" thing showed up the first time I was so shocked! It was nothing that I expected. I also love the characters! Another thing I really like is the description of the tavern and characters! I think that the folk lore of the village being sung by the kids is kind of eerie!

Yes! Those things are terrifying. Poor horse & I would not want to be in the woods at night with those thing around. About the song, it's funny what kids will sing not knowing the true meaning. I didn't know what ring around the rosie meant but once I did I never sung it again. It's horrible. Why would we be taught a song about the black death, crazy.
I was terrified for a moment there, too! But the story is so good! I've been reading slowly because I always take my time with fantasy books. So far I find all of the characters very interesting, and I can't wait to continue :)
I completely agree with everyone! The story so far is great. I love how descriptive the author is. It really helps you get an image in your head. And wow I was so scared at one point with the "scary things" I almost jumped out of my skin. Haha
The book has been very intimidating sitting there on my shelf, just daring me to pick it up! BUT, once I got started, it seems to move quickly. I think that we will learn a lot about Abenthy.. I wonder how much of the story is Kvothe looking back on his life???
