Standalones. I love being able to start a book, learn about all the characters, see their stories, learn about their stories, then end and say "Great book. Now I'm done." Standalones are great for people who are bad at commitment (me) You never know what kind of curveball can get thrown at you in life, and with a series, you have to commit. And if you don't like the first book, you feel obligated to continue.

I love series if they're done well. Some books really need to stay as standalones, but others need more exploration in that world!
