I am a solivagant No mere wanderer or traveler be Not a vagabond nor a lost man No aimless tumbleweed
I am a solivagant A word as rare as me Though many lonely nights I spend I live by my own creed
I am no ordinary man So with ordinary words I part I’m not a gypsy or lone wolf, No arrow in the dark
Those names are far too common And I know I am more My life will be extraordinary I’m no generic bore
Unlike so many merely lost I am truly unique I wander alone because there are no others quite like me Centuries come and go, herds of impostors in their wake But I’m the lone solivagant and history’s mine to take
You may call me pretentious, But be it as it may I am the lone solivagant I must be on my way
