I have been making nice progress. Never thought 60 was realistic for me (I work too much? Not long enough commute?), so planned for 24 (2 a month), which is something a bit more realistic. After all, it is not a stretch goal if I know it will not be possible! The surprise is that now, 4 months in, I have read 13 books, some new ones I came across and others that were on my reading list for some time https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
As a result, I am glad for a check-in and think this shared approach to reading is a great idea. Thanks!
I too thought sixty was perhaps a bit lofty but I've read 27 books! Done are picture books and since I'm reading both novels & new books I've decided to up my goal to 100 books! With the help of Sixty Books, Twitter & my #BookJourney friends I feel like my goal is obtainable & my commitment to reading is back in full swing!!Thanks for the check-in!!

I've read 35 books (my goal is at least 75). I read mostly middle grade fiction titles for teaching recommendations, but I've made it a goal that every 5th book is targeted to adults. Some stand-outs so far have been Anna Karenina (on the tbr list for a long time), A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness, We Are All Made of Molecules by Susin Nielsen, and Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates.
I am currently on book 30 of 75. I read Young Adult books so that I can review them on my blog: www.mrsthomas715.blogspot.com. I've read some really good ones, my absolute favorite is Dumplin' by Julie Murphy. If you get a chance to read it as an audiobook, please do, the Texas accent is to die for! Follow me on Twitter @MrsThomas715 for more great book recommendations.

I also get stuck in certain genre. For me, it is definitely YA, mostly of the paranormal/steampunk/fantasy type. I also review on my blog. I really like that ability to be in contact with other people who love to read and write about their books. There are so many great books out there!

I'm looking forward to the next in this new series. My blog is at www.thebooknerd2013.blogspot.com. I followed. Glad you are enjoying your reading so far!
We're in month 7...a little over half way for those of us who started the challenge in January. How is it going? Any new reading habits or routines developing?

So far, I think my favorite series is The Madman's Daughter series. I'm listening to these as I drive. It's a monster reboot from classic stories that were around when I was a kid. The first one is based loosely on The Island of Dr. Moreau, the second is Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde, and the third, Frankenstein. All are told from Dr. Moreau's daughter's point of view and are so engaging that I sit in the parking lot just to finish a chapter!
Favorite stand alone books are probably What Was Mine by Helen Klein Ross and Sister Dear by Laura McNeill. Sister Dear had a dark side that reminded me a bit of Gone Girl. I really enjoyed it.
My wishlist/TBR list keeps growing too. I have plenty of titles waiting to be read. :)
