What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I remember a series (trilogy?) of young adult horror from the '90s that always seemed to have a beach or the sea on the covers, involving blonde women with large sunglasses and on one cover menacing hooded beings with glowing blue eyes in the corner. One cover might have had bleeding black roses on it. I think it might have involved psychic powers and secret societies; I only read a little of one book and it probably was in the middle rather than the beginning.

Oh, wait, I just found it, the Dark Visions trilogy by L. J. Smith. I see that I confused the the second cover and the third cover into one. Looks like it's more paranormal romance than horror.
