Katie North | 8 comments I had a hard time deciding about my last book. I loved both The Giver, and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe as a kid, so I knew I wanted to reread one of them for this assignment. Ultimately, I decided to read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

The book is about four siblings who are sent to live in the country during WWII. After exploring an off limits room, they discover a wardrobe that leads to another land - Narnia. Throughout their adventures in Narnia, the children are tempted with gluttony, power, and ultimately learn some very valuable lessons about betrayal and redemption.

This book has many underlying meanings that can be different for each person. I think using this in the classroom you could highlight foreshadowing, and character development. One activity that could be an extension of the story would be to create a wanted poster for the Witch. Ultimately, I really enjoy this series, and know that the students would as well.
