L.A., the city the Royals live in, is coastal. Many flock to the Ocean and beaches, though some prefer the less busy, peaceful lake that is also nearby. The Royals have a whole Marina of their own, private and filled with expensive boats, though there are other docks nearby open to the public.

The lake is particularly beautiful, large and picturesque, mostly calm water. Many enjoy canoeing or sailing on the open waters. The water is so clear that in some places in the lake, you can see up to seventy-five feet deep. Makes for great fishing, too.

Prince Nikolai of Russia, that was what everyone thought of him, never Nikolai, always Prince Nikolai. Even his family addressed him on occasion as Prince Nikolai. The only one who didn't was the very man he came here to meet; Sasha. He choose this location knowing it would be secluded away from everyone due to the Selection having not started yet. It was also beautiful and romantic which he hoped would ease Sasha's fears about him not wanting him anymore and wanting a beautiful women instead. As if he could ever want anyone but beautiful Sasha. He raised his hand over his eyes in order to shield them from the sun while looking for him but didn't see him, so settled in to wait seating himself in the sand.

Sasha stopped at the top of the hill soaking up the warm sun which felt absolutely exquisite on his skin, especially compared to Russia which was cold as fuck. He could see the faintest outline of Nikolai on the beach, he stared at him for a moment smiling sadly. It seemed not so long ago that the two of them were in his family's jewelry store flirting and now here they were in Illea with Nikolai's family pushing for an arranged marriage. Sasha couldn't help but feel that after Nikolai met this princess that he was going to be married to he'd be pushed out of the picture completely. The Russian translator snapped himself out of his thoughts and hurried down with a heavy heart but his face showed no sign of his worry.

Nikolai was getting a little impatient waiting as he felt it had been ages but in reality it was only like five minutes. He was just eager to see Sasha again. It had been so long as they had to keep their hands to themselves in the view of his family, through that didn't stop Nikolai placing small kisses on his cheek and neck when he felt no-one was watching. He saw movement out of the corner of his eye and turned fully, seeing Sasha hurrying towards him. He rose to meet him wrapping his arms around his waist as he did so. "Hello kotyonok," he said with a smile.

Sasha hurried over to Nikolai throwing his arms around him and burying his head in Nikolai's shoulder fully embracing him. He breathed in the scent of his lover melting in the embrace. It felt like forever since they had seen each other even though it had only been five minutes but anytime away from Nikolai felt like an eternity. He pulled away slightly so he could kiss his lover first on the corner of his mouth and and then fully on the mouth. "Hello Nikolai missed you," he said softly happy that they could act like lovers here and not have to pretend they're not like they have to in front of Nikolai's family.

Nikolai smiled down at him enjoying the feeling of having Sasha against him. It had really been too long since they had properly been together. He gently kissed him back and frowned slightly when he pulled away but quickly put a smile back on his face before Sasha saw. "I missed you too kotyonok," he replied with a soft smile and then leaned down and captured his lovers lips softly. If anyone was around now to see them, they would see a couple very much in love with eyes for no-one but each other, the perfect photograph. If only that were true. Nikolai could tell that Sasha still had doubts even now when wrapped up in Nikolai's arms and had no idea how to ease them. All he could do was keep showing him he loved him and hope it was enough.

Sasha blushed slightly when Nikolai called him 'kitten.' It seemed to be Nikolai's favorite nickname for him not that Sasha minded the nickname. He actually found it to be very cute and the fact that Nikolai had even thought to give him a nickname showed that he cared and to be perfectly honest that's exactly what he needed to hear at that moment. Letting his insecurities go Sasha kissed Nikolai back gently at first but then with more fervor as they fell into a very familiar rhythm.

Nikolai smirked slightly at seeing his lover blush, it was one of his favourite activities seeing how often he could his lovers cheeks to colour as he looked beautiful while doing it even if Sasha didn't always agree. The smirk was soon wiped off of Nikolai's face as his lover started kissing him fervently and Nikolai gently pulled him closer deepening the kiss happy to see that Sasha's doubts had disappeared for the meantime. Nikolai broke the kiss. breathing deeply. "Well that was a nice hello," he said laughing, his smile bright and eyes dazzling. He wanted to stay like this forever away from everyone and everything but instead he had to go back to being the prince and pretend Sasha meant nothing to him, other than a friend. He sometimes wished he could just declare he was going to marry the man in his arms to the whole world and screw their reactions and opinions. But it didn't work like that.
