Beverly | 23 comments I have enjoyed many Shakepearian plays. But I would have to say that my very favourite that I have personally experinced to date was Othello. I was able to study it in our college world lit class and then we went together to the theatre in the round in Regina, Saskatchewan! What an amazing experience! But what amazes me the most about this and many other of Shakepear's works, is the depth of insight into human nature - prejudice, jealousy, mistrust, manipulation, the seed of a lie planted that produces the most tragic of fruit in revenge.
An amazing tale well told.

Wendy (wendyr-k) | 12 comments I can't say that I've ever been especially fond of Shakespeare. It simply takes too much effort for me to read it, although obviously I recognize that as my fault, and not his. I never studied him after High School though (my literature classes in University were mostly feminist ones, and not surprisingly, he wasn't on the reading list). What I can say, however, is that he is SO much easier to understand when he is read out loud. And when he is transformed by some screenwriter in Hollywood (gasp!) - I usually understand him better then too...
