Hi, my name is Rachel and I thank you for the invite to this group Paul. I am a stay at home mom of two young children. I started my "mindfulness journey" right at the end of 2014 going into 2015. I was very sick then and at the time we weren't sure what exactly was wrong. We thought my medical issues were triggered by foods and stress, so I began to "self-medicate" through mindfulness and yoga. The first book I read was "BEing Spiritually Intelligent" and from there just kind of went with it at my own pace. I studied a lot about the Chakras, began to become mindful of my own being; my symptoms, when my stress was the highest, what my triggers were, acknowledging my reactions. It's been slow and steady for the course but perfect in its own way. I also have set "New Moon Intentions" every month for probably a year now and participated in a Global Blue Moon Meditation back in July 2015 on Facebook; the meditation was led by Jocelyn Daher whom I have followed ever since. I think she is an amazing BEing. Since that first meditation I have made meditation a regular daily habit. I mostly do chakra meditations & I listen to a lot of those high vibrational frequency meditation music on YouTube. I love those so much. I've since also made personal development a regular habit it as well. My favorite so far are my Darren Daily emails by Darren Hardy. And I am working on making Yoga more of a regular habit as well. I am physically active on a daily basis but I would like to incorporate more Yoga into my day. Aaaandd... that's me! Again, thank you for the invitation here!
Hi Rachel,
Welcome to the group and thank you for being the first person to post in the group (apart from me who is organising it). Hopefully it will grow and we can start to share our experiences in mindfulness with each other and generally just give each other encouragement to keep going with it. I'm off on a ten day meditation retreat now, no technology allowed (it is lovely) so will be out of touch for a bit.
All the best
Paul

Hello,I am Stanley Siegel, a long-term meditator and the author of 5 books in the field of psychotherapy which I have practiced for more than 40 years. I am also the founder of Psychology Tomorrow Magazine. My most recent book is "The Secret Wisdom of Ancient Parables: Lessons for Living Positively. One reviewer said, " Ancient Parables is like having a personal trainer for the soul." I thought you may be interested in knowing about it.
Hi everyone Namaste! My name is Cliff and I am a Zen teacher and coauthor of a book called Find the Seeker! which I coauthored with Zen Master Genro Xuan Lou, Laoshi. The book just came out six days ago, and we started a giveaway for it. We think it is very special, but I guess just about every author thinks this of her or his book. It was a lot of work and a lot to think about, but a rewarding experience. I look forward to being part of the group, making friends and seeing what people like to read. Best Cliff
