Blue is the violetAnd red is the rose,
Grey is the girl
Who everybody knows.
Hiding from the world
In midst of her flight,
Into the darkness and
Out of the light.
Blue is the violet
And red is the rose,
The colour of blood
My enemies' I suppose.
Their names on my tombstone
That of my mind,
Hands stained with blood
Payment in kind.
Eyes full of torture
That no one can see,
Weighed down by chains
All I do is long to be free.
Blue is the violet
And red is the rose,
Hidden in plain sight
Dodging all the blows.
Playing chords for the shadows
No one else can hear,
Someday I'll join them betting
no one would notice if I just disappeared.
Grey is the violet
And grey is the rose,
Drained of their colour
A paintbrush that froze.
Depicting my colour
The lies of my life,
Free of the chains
As I just gradually fade from your sight.
Interesting. I like it. There are a couple of places I stumbled because it seems like the meter is off, but then I'm not a poet so what do I know. Yeah, I like it.
