Good evening Sara - your books are wonderful, and I'm impressed by how prolific you are. Did you have any idea when you started that they would be suchh a success?
I fell in love with the village from the first book. Do you put people in the village every time you meet someone new?
I see that didn't make sense--what I meant was: when you meet someone do you catch yourself thinking 'I can see him/her in the village.'?
Thanks Sara. So did you not plan the series from the start? It's just that the characters in the different books seem to fit so well together...
Yes, I am always surprised at who steps out as the new character. A couple of times I have been disappointed at first, thinking that I wouldn't care to know more (Theo), only to be completely caught up in the story before the end of the first chapter. Any more UK based books on the cards. I thought I saw a possibility in the latest short stories.
Hi Sara, I've just joined you! I'm halfway through A Wander through the Village and just loving the way a minor character suddenly leaps out onto centre stage and steals the show!I wanted to ask you (following the success of the Sunday night drama The Durrells) whether the screenplay idea of the Illegal Gardener might be re-visited? In fact why not a full Greek Series?
Wishful thinking maybe but ......
Not much to ask really .. .just the right person(s) with the love of Greece, the insight and understanding to bring out the essence and beauty of the Village and its characters, exceptional connections and influence with bureaucrats and potential investors, track record, the .... not much to ask is it! Personally though, I think that books are often better than their film versions. When the writing is so good it allows my imagination to create its own movie then I am happy just to read.
So looking forward to the next book. May your muse continue to inspire you!
