Rachel N. | 2285 comments Kinsey Millhone is a private investigator working in southern California. She is hired by Nord Lafferty to escort his daughter Reba home from prison and make sure she stays in line. Reba was in jail for embezzling money from a former employer. Soon her former boss Alan Beckwith reenters Reba's life. Reba is a fun character though she has a great many flaws. This is definitely one of the weaker books in this series. Compared to other entries in the series not a lot happens. Kinsey is never really in any danger and there are long passages discussing money laundering, not the most exciting subject. There are also side trips into Kinsey's landlord Henry's love life, Kinsey's love life and a shopping spree for Kinsey. I really like the series as a whole but this entry is pretty forgettable.
