The Passage trilogy readalong discussion

Auntie is one of those 'seer' or 'oracle' like characters. What do you think of her? :)

Auntie - as well as Lacey, and Doyle knowing that Lacey was coming up to the compound - adds a balance of mysticism to the story-line. You have the semi-plausible scientific explanation for the vamps/smokes/jumpers/etc - the virus, the hyper-charged thymus, etc - but you also need a balance of extra-sensory or mystical stuff going on.

I love Auntie. She seems comforting and grandmotherly to me. Although her "knowing" is supernatural it doesn't come across as strange or unsettling to me, it feels more like the wisdom of an elder who has seen and done much over many, many years.
