Elke (misspider) I just wanted to add my latest vampire read and found that I didn't even create my own challenge this year...oops! While my vampire quota is not as high as it was in the past, there still are a couple of stories I've read so far:

A captivating mixture beetween coming-of-age, NY Punk scene and, of course, vampires. Some parts of it awoke memories of my younger years *sigh*.

I already dare say this is the best vampire book I've read (or will read) this year. Highest recomendation!

Another great read. Though the vampire here is not the traditional two-legged kind, it also has that unsatiable craving for blood...

Graeme Rodaughan Hi Elke,

Any new vampire books to recommend?

Thanks

Cheers Graeme

I have to admit I'm not such an avid vampire book reader as I used to be, partly because there are not as many new books in the genre, but also because my interests have shifted towards horror/thriller.

However, a new title I'm looking forward to is Robert McCammon's 'Last Train from Perdition', the sequel to "I Travel by Night", which is announced for publication in October.

Graeme Rodaughan Hi Elke, you might like The Devil's Mouth (Alex Rains, Vampire Hunter Book One) by Matt Kincade which certainly has elements of horror and thrills.

Check the Preview and see if it is to your taste.

A very good sequel, but somehow it didn't 'grip' me like other books do.

Huh, I've neglected this list for some time, but then I don't read that many vampire books anymore. Seems the market has shrunk pretty much - and my taste has changed as well.

A book with vampires in it, but only as one part of the whole fun. I really had a great time reading this one.

Some interesting books, Elke. Just thought you might like to know I set up the book challenge for 2017

Definitely, though my appetite for vampire books has diminished drastically over the last year. But on the plus side, quality has beaten quantity :)

I noticed I missed to add my seventh vampire read for last year, so for the sake of completeness here it is:

#7
Vampirjägerin inkognito Bis(s) zum Sieg by Fiona Winter Vampirjägerin inkognito: Bis(s) zum Sieg

Light reading, but very entertaining.
