Hi, everyone! Elsa Frost suggested that we have a chat thread. Thanks, Elsa! Here it is.

brooke1994 (formerlynarnian525) | 81 comments What's everyone's favorite color? Mine is purple :)

message 8: by Celestial (new)

Celestial This book was clean (except for kissing), so to me it wasn't bad or embarrassing to read. It is just when someone makes fun of something you read it is embarrassing. Suddenly you feel stupid for
reading a book because everybody else thinks it is so dumb.

I think I may delete my comment because I kind of wanted to get my feelings out, and now I'm fine.

message 9: by Celestial (new)

Celestial My favorite color is blue. I also like pink but only in small doses.

message 17: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) My fave color is purple!

message 18: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) There is nothing wrong with reading what you want--yes, if it is wrong, that is a different matter altogether. Believe me, I read SO many romance books. My family doesn't even question it anymore because they know that that is what I love to read.
Sure, I may get teased a few times.
BE YOU!!!!

message 19: by Lydia (new)

Lydia Therese (susanthegentle) I don't have any problem with reading romance books as long as there is nothing bad in them. More often then not they are really, really cheesy though. xD But everyone needs a cheesy romance book every once-in-awhile, right? I love old romance books like Felicity mentioned - Jane Austen is amazing, of course. ;D

message 20: by ❄Elsa Frost❄ (new)

❄Elsa Frost❄ (elsafrost) I'm probably the only one here who's not into romance books. XD It has to be a particular way in order for me to enjoy the romance book -- which, sadly, excludes most secular and Christian romances. :P

I do thoroughly enjoy Fantasy and Science-Fiction though! What are all of your favorite genres? :-)

message 21: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) Fantasy is awesome1

message 22: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) Romance
Fantasy
HIstorical

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't read a book if I know that a book does have romance.

message 24: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) Ok.

message 25: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) If any of you need any romance book recommendations, please ask me!

I loooove sci-fi in general - I watch a ton of sci-fi TV shows like Star Trek TOS and Star Trek Voyager - I don't know of many sci-fi books but the few I've read I've enjoyed immensely. ;)

message 27: by Celestial (new)

Celestial Thanks guys for your support. :D My friends are all really great people, they just don't understand 'cause they don't have similar reading tastes. :)

I love fantasy, Christian historical fiction, Christian chick-lit, and contemporary.

Alexis | Booklover101 ♡ My favorite color is also blue :) I love romance novels as well! But, I also read tons of fantasy-fiction, adventure, and sci-fi! Nice to meet you all :)

We have a poll where you can vote for your favorite color. Please vote!

Oops... I'm in another group where we have a poll for that. Sorry! The group is: Polls for Christian Girls. You can join that, Celestial! Again, I'm so sorry that I got mixed up. ;)

message 30: by Celestial (new)

I've only started reading The Chronicles of Narnia.. and I've never heard of the others except Harry Potter. Wow. I really need to get out more. XD

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm not really a fan of fantasy. And I'm not allowed to read Harry Potter.

Haley S (haleyjs) Celestial wrote: "Really! :D I absolutely love fantasy. Most of those books are books I have definitely read more than once. :D"

That is too awesome!!!!! Some of them are the same for me too!

Leona wrote: "I'm not really a fan of fantasy. And I'm not allowed to read Harry Potter."

I've never liked Harry Potter, and I know some christians don't approve reading it. Actually I'm one of them. Fantasy is not my thing. It's too....fantasy. I prefer realistic books and autobiographies.

message 45: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) I really like Harry Potter!

Anyone read Lord of the RIngs?

message 46: by Karis (new)

Karis I have :) I thought that they were good. I read them a couple of years ago and I know I hard time keeping everything straight. There's a lot in those books!

message 47: by brooke1994 (new)

brooke1994 (formerlynarnian525) | 81 comments I'm also getting into Game of Thrones. I know that series may seem controversial for a believer to get into, but I have good faith to be able to tell the difference between reality and fantasy, and I really like the characters and the action. I am aware that the show has a lot of nudity, and course sexual content, language, and violence in it, but I am going to give it a try anyway to compare it to the books. I'm almost done with the first book and I can't wait to watch the first season. My favorite character is Dany because I feel like I can really relate to her.

message 48: by Haley (new)

Haley S (haleyjs) :)

message 49: by Lydia (new)

Lydia Therese (susanthegentle) I've never read LOTR...I think maybe in another year I'll read them. They were written for adults and I think I'll just be able to understand everything and the messages in the story better when I'm older. I have read "The Hobbit" though. I think it's really under-appreciated, it's so cute and funny! :3

I have to agree. I enjoy the Hobbit a lot more than the LOTR series itself.
