Jian Hou (nevhirion) | 6 comments The only way to buy Kindle in Malaysia is to go through kindlemalaysia or to have someone in US buy it for you. Granted, kindlemalaysia will sell it at a premium price, expect to pay 50% more.
The new Paperwhite should be sufficient for most people's need, any extra bling from the Voyage or Oasis is just luxury.
Purchasing books is easy, you just need to have a Kindle account and credit card. You can download it down to your PC and transfer it or connect your Kindle to Internet and download your purchase.

I agree with Jian on this. Each model is pretty much the same in term of specification as the backlit models use the same 300ppi screen and run the same software. The only difference is the way the screen was mounted on the device and the overall design itself. So, if money is not an issue, you can't really go wrong with any of them.

Besides Kindle Malaysia, you can also purchase the device through Lazada and various sellers on the Low Yat forum. I believe that the price through these channels is more reasonable than the one offered by Kindle Malaysia.

As simple as you treat your USB drives. You can basically read any ebooks on the device, not strictly those you purchase from Amazon store, as long as they use .mobi or .azw/azw3 format. If you get the ebook from other source, just drag and drop it to your kindle or better yet, use Calibre to organise your ebooks and transfer them via the application.

Have "fun" choosing the right model for you, Suria.
I understand well enough how agonising this phase could be, lol! Drop us a line should you have any other questions.
