Anyone else play video games? I find it's a nice escape from the escape of writing imaginary stories. That's two levels of escape. *spins inception top*Started playing Hearthstone. Virtual card game. Pretty fun. Easy to pick up and put down. Hard to master.
I miss Sorority Life on fb. It was my obsession at one point lol. I also miss Sims 1. Oh the memories - wetting your pants on the lawn...good times!
Gosh, I loved Sorority Life on FB! At one point, I was totally into Kitchen Scramble, but then time fell short so I had to give up
OMG I had, like 49 boyfriends and if he happended to be a Prince Harry you can rest assured he was stolen!

;) If you ever came up short a Harry all I can do is apologize...but I would have ABsolutely been on your volleyball team. Those blonde beach waves weren't going to buy themselves, you know.
Did 'Sorority Life' have a goal? Do you rise through the ranks of the organization? Or deck out your room with the coolest stuff? Or did she who collected the most boyfriends win the game?
The goal was to become the most influential soror in the most influential house. You could get there by either charm or skill. The more expensive your wardrobe and accessories the more charm. The better you were at volunteering with fundraisers and hosting swanky parties the more skill points. You couldn't really succeed without either. And of course you had to take down the heifers in rival houses!
There is a game out there for everyone, I think. Was it single player or multiplayer? I think you can learn a lot about yourself by playing those kinds of games. How you play them reveals something about your personality. Did you work toward the wardrobe goal or the party circuit?
In a way, goodreads is like a game. Authors add their book to the melee and compete to see who can score the highest rank on the big Amazon scoreboard. (Not everyone's goal, I'm sure...but hard not to be aware of those little ranking numbers)
It is all a bit of a game, isn't it? Luckily we all fight to out-do only ourselves. I think many of us have a determination to climb as high on the 'leader board' as possible. We write for our own individual reasons, yes, but we all love to see the units sold ticker climb or our rankings soar during a promotion or giveaway. Human nature. As for Sorority life it was all about the fashion for me lol. I was never any good at the in-game fighting. It really could get ugly because off-screen alliances would form and try to deplete your character's stamina in the game. It was actually kind of crazy. Sorority girls from other houses would avenge a take-down by coming after you just because you were from an opposing house. They would deplete your stamina by slapping you, attacking you and/or stealing your boyfriend. You could go on the attack yourself with the rest of your house or 'hide out' in the spa until they left you alone. Dear God, now that I think about it, what a load of misogynist crap lol. But it was so much fun hahahaa - and the boots and handbags were amazeballs! I was like the big sister type. If you rank high enough you get to become a mentor and that was always a blast - handing out smoothies and frappes to the newbies so they could build up energy, gifting them accessories and clothes they hadn't unlocked yet, doling out strategy and advice - so much fun. Do I sound like a gamer Norma Desmond?
So a mentor in the game and in real life. The theory stands! And I'm guessing from the way you played that video game, you don't run errands in sweat pants and flip flops.
Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach.I lurve fashion - on other people lol. Try as I might I can't get past my J.Crew and Land's End fix to really get into the good stuff. one day i *will* own that peasant minidress from the Marc Jacobs Resort collection, 2015. It gives me life. And I can daydream about accepting my Pulitzer for fiction in a merlot Elie Saab. Until then cashmere turtlenecks and driving moccasins are the best I can do.
I think 75% of my clothing items have paint on them. I had to wear baseball cleats with my shorts last week because I've lost my one pair of sneakers and it was too cold for flip flops. On a side note, baseball cleats make a very satisfying sound on terrazzo floors.
I should probably go on a shopping spree this weekend. I'm afraid if I stop too long on the sidewalk people might start pitching spare coins at me.
As long as men with backpacks don't lure you into dark sheds! Yikes! What is terrazzo? You're such an arche-tech. Get it?! No? Nothing...?
