The ongoing discussion of Freyja's appearance has nothing of any merit to her. She's engaged; there is clearly someone who finds part of her beautiful, or she wouldn't have a ring on her finger. Just because she's old school--an anti-gun advocate, with an affinity for knives and sporting a good deal of scars--doesn't mean she's not an elegant woman. No, she's quite attractive in her own way, and she couldn't care less.

Freyja is known for her intricate dresses and ensembles consisting of flowing skirts. But, most don't get to see her in close fitting pants and shirts, for when she decides she's going to do some extra work. That in mind, she also keeps her hair up most days.
p e r s o n a l i t y ⇢ you murdered for

[ i ] f there's one thing that you should know about Freyja, is that family is everything. Her family is usually the first thing on her lips, all good words. She known for comparing people to her family, to their traits and habits. It's not to be taken as a bad thing, but someone people just don't like it. And she just doesn't care. She's intimidating in the way she lacks care for most of the opinions that surround her. "She's a giantess." Keen observation, my friend, but she's not the tallest in the family. "She's got so many scars." That's the sign of being real for her.

The other thing that people know her for, aside from her heavy accent and surprisingly vulgar sense of humor, is how much she cares for people. Her loyalty to others is both a blessing and a curse. She's biased, taking sides. She sees the world in black and white, no grey areas allowed. There is right, and then there is wrong. With that, even if you've done some unspeakable wrong, Freyja will still be at your side. Because she's far too invested in you. While she does have faith that people can change, and things can become clear rather than murky, she has a hard time forgiving people that have wronged her or people she cares for. That, that is the moment when you must fear for your life the most.

Territory is a big thing for Freyja. Territory isn't limited to a place, either. People, objects; she becomes quite possessive of things she's fond of. Like, for example, her knives. The only people allowed to touch them are her and herself. She doesn't quite trust people not to mess with what she holds dear, and thus keeps a careful watch over them. She's short fused with things valued to her, and it's best to leave her be. Unless, of course, you'd like to lose some fingers and add a scar to new collection.
[ fixations ] knives, her family, daises, rowing, fishing
[ ahorrences ] goat milk, roses, people touching her things, opinions
[ specialties ] excellent marksman, intimidating
[ kryptonite ] her tendency to not back down
[ interests ] knife collecting, scrap booking, fishing

[ l ] ife has always been interesting for those of the Valsden clan. They, stuck in their old ways, were a rowdy bunch of marauding warriors, philosophical drunks, and courageous thieves. They were, essentially, a collection of people thrown together by blood and circumstance, and they loved every minute of it. That was where Odin met Nott, and where the two of them fell in love. They married under the night sky, which her patron goddess was named for, and began a new branch of the clan, starting with Freyja.

Being an older sibling is fun. You're in charge, you have all the say over your siblings. But, Freyja was lonely in the two years she had on her own. Sure, she enjoyed being spoiled with sharp objects, but there was that lack of being able to sharing her teething toys with someone. Then, her brother came along with his twin sister. The trio were a happy bunch, despite the fact that Freyja was the only one capable of toddling around. Then, came a flurry of more children.

Freyja, to say the least, wanted to do her best as the eldest. She wanted to pave the way for them, and so she did. She was the first to receive a scar, though the others followed suit quickly. They were always at her heels and she took pride in it. She loved the competition. Her siblings were the best part of her.

Then the merry clan was rocked with internal conflicts. One branch thought different from the other, while two more wanted to avoid taking sides, and still another wished to pass the matter over entirely. And, then there was a feud within the family. One that, unfortunately, claimed the lives of many within the family. When peace came, Freyja and her siblings were without parents.

All over the thought of integrating into the world around them.

The clan scattered, and so did Freyja's siblings. Some stayed within the country, hidden in the depths of the wilderness, and other took to the safety of places like Illea--which was what Freyja did. At this point, she was already betrothed, and he came with her. When they arrived, Freyja didn't see much to gain from practically abandoning her family, but she soon learned that it was for the best.

They found each other, but remained at a distance. They didn't wish to see conflict again, see death within the family on any scale. So, they kept their space and loved from afar.

[ i ] f you know Dasha, you know well enough that he doesn't take shit. He's a man that cuts right to the point he wants to get at. He doesn't beat around the bush; he leaves that for others to do. He's the man you want to go to if you really want the truth, the man that most people don't quite like because of how blunt he is. Dasha is well aware that most people don't take kindly to his bad choice of words on most occasions, but they know his intentions are usually good. Usually.

Dasha has a mean streak, and it's not something to be trifled with. If he really doesn't like you, he will go out of his way to tell you that and much more. He'd write a sonnet about how much he despises a person; trust me, he's done it. But, this nasty side of him is reserved for a select few. He's not one to target people at random with his animosity; he's got a strategy. He's usually indifferent to most people, but there are a few who he respects and likes quite genuinely. Though, most people on't think that to be possible in any way.

There are certain principles that Dasha follows: order, compromise, and completion. He likes things to be in order, or to not be there at all. There is no in between for him in that regards. If it's not tidy, he'll either redo it himself or walk away from it. Don't hand him anything that isn't organized; he'll chuck it out a window. As for compromise, he likes to make sure everyone is getting the fullest out of the ordeal. If one person isn't totally satisfied, he'll go back and do it all over again. Which goes back to the last principle: completion. He likes to see things through to the end. It must be finished. No "I'll get back to it later"; no, he'll do it all in one sitting, even if he has to lose a night of sleep for it.

[ e ] veryone knows the stereotypes about politicians, but none could know them better than one. Edgar Finnick had much to deal with early in his career. He was thrown one scandal after the other, but the biggest by far had to be his wedding. Unintentional and a drunken mistake that he saw through, people just couldn't get enough of it. He remained in the limelight as Tilda Hin crept her way up the social ladder, and became a second caste citizen. The still running speculation is that she got pregnant and that they had never been together more than a single night, but that's not what really happened. See, the press has a way of loading the media with lies and such, but there was no great debate on Edgar's "predicament". They had been friends, and crossed that line with a couple drinks. Simple, a little messy, but nothing too grand.

Their children, however, grew up with these accusations and instructions: "Don't let it get to you." Dasha was the second child to hear this from both parents, second to his sister, and one above a brother. They were encouraged to be individuals, but not too individual. Too be free, but not free. There was a limit to how much they could show of themselves, how much they could relax, how much they could do everything. They were rewarded for robotic behavior, and scolded for being human. Funny how much he prospered from it.

The children began a rebellion, of sorts, when they were all teenagers. His sister took to promiscuity and his brother decided he had a penchant for setting things aflame. Dasha, though, found his revolution in questions. He undermined everything they could possibly teach them, down to the very little "please and thank you." He questioned their honesty, their dignity, even how faithful they were to each other. And then, he did some digging, and realized, he didn't much care for his family. So, he left them.

Amazing what a kid who lived sheltered for much of his seventeen years of life could do. He tried his hand with art, found he didn't like it despite a budding talent, and moved on to cooking. He nearly burned down his home. Then, there was Chemistry, but chemicals and him just weren't a good mix; he wasn't a fan of the way they exploded. But, he liked this new side of exploration.

However, he still fell back into the same routine of his family, and went into politics, like his father.

[ n ] ik is a very carefree kind of guy. Despite his position, he acts as though there isn't much to worry about. He's the kind of person that is usually relaxing on the job, but somehow getting it done. He doesn't think much for consequences, though he does warn those working under him about slacking off. There's a difference from taking a break and slacking off. That, though, is all in the results, and he does give some pretty good ones.

There are times when Nik should really stop flirting, but he doesn't. He goes after pretty much anything that moves, save animals and all. He has no real discrimination in his choice of target; if he finds someone attractive, he'll let them know. He isn't good with long term relationships because of this. Girlfriends and boyfriends have lost trust in him over a few words exchanged with a pretty face, and he can be very nonchalant about that type of stuff. He doesn't work very hard to get someone's attention, though.

People have complained about how dismissive Nik can be. He can easily wave off the problems of others, and this doesn't help his communication skills. No, it's not that he doesn't care--though, most times he honestly doesn't--it's just that at the moment they choose to come talk to him, he can't be bothered. He may not seem like it, but he does have some responsibilities to think of. He does have to get work done, and sitting and listening to someone complain just doesn't fit in between relaxing and doing his work.

[ w ] hat more could have been done to save the poor French chef, Baldo Gaston, from an overly large ego stroked by a doting wife named Francis? This man fathered Nikolai, and thus continued on a cycle of flirts and dismissive men in a long line of them. But, that's not what he needed saving for. What he needed saving from was an overactive need to pass on the idea of his greatness to every man, woman, and child he met. Of course, no one was able to stop him until he'd gotten himself beaten bloody for it later on in life.

Nik grew up with exaggerated tales of his father's, and much of his life was spent thinking that each one was a terrible lie at the sight of his crippled father. He didn't much like the man, who had a tendency to flirt with women even when he was supposed to be taking a young Nik out to get groceries. He didn't much care for the way he did certain things so hesitantly, and would then proceed to spin a web of lies to make it seem like he'd mastered it in one go.

He wanted to be something unlike his father, but sadly, the two of them somewhat ended up the same. Nik, before his time as head groundskeeper, he was a chef like his father. He found that he had been too much like his father and sought out ways to change. He tried acting different, showing more care. But, in the end, some things just couldn't be changed forever. He fell back into old ways, lost his job, and was stuck at home for a year.

His mother was unable to stop him as he walked out the door as an eighteen year old. He was too unhappy to allow himself to live in the same space as his father. Until, one day, it just hit him: why care? He didn't think that a total lack of care was necessary, just not caring so much. He relaxed, became the same Nik that he is today.

To his great surprise, he had a real talent for landscaping and the like. He enjoyed it, honestly, and decided that was what he wanted to do with his new found talent. And that, my friends, is what leads to his present position.

❝ But strong girl? ❞ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

┌ Olympia Chiang ♛ born 1st September ┐
└ Palace ; Caste 6 ♛ identifies as female ┘

┌ six and thirty years old ♛ head seamstress ┐
├ demiromantic ace ♛ currently unmarried ┤
└ birthstone ; sapphire ♛ flowers ; lavender ┘

[ ♛ Appearance ♛ ]

Olympia Chiang has black hair which cascades in curls down to the small of her back. Her eyes are dark brown, almost black, a pretty shade of chocolate. She is 168cm tall and weighs 55kg. She is said to resemble the Asian-American actress, Lucy Liu.

She is often seen wearing practical and sensible clothing, matching her personality, and in muted, earthy colours. Sometimes her clothes are accented with bright buttons and ribbons left over from dress making.

[ ♛ Personality ♛ ]

As one of the palace’s Seamstresses, Olympia is down-to-earth, humble, and a practical woman. She’s very no-nonsense, observant and logical in her thinking, and is trustworthy, since her customers like chatting with her while she takes measurements and help them try on new clothes. She is also quite independent, kind, and caring, but she can’t quite refuse if anyone asks her for a favour. Once she’s focused on something, it’s hard to break her out of concentration.

However, Olympia tends to hide herself away in her working room, working hard and burning the midnight oil more often than she should. Unknown to everyone else, she feels insecure a lot of the time. Since her entire life is pretty much her job, she puts her worth in her dresses, and tends to look down on herself when her designs aren’t satisfactory, whether from someone else’s point of view or her own. She also prefers to keep a low profile, which is why she's content with not having the position of Head Seamstress (added onto the fact that she just wants to do her best, not social climb).

[ ♛ History ♛ ]

Though not known to anyone else, Olympia had initially belonged in Caste Three. Her father, a lawyer, had accused her mother of cheating, and had her and her mother cast down to Caste Six. Olympia had been very young then, but she still remembers the fancy dresses and the silks of the balls her family had sometimes been invited to. Her mother had fled to Likely with her, and that was where she grew up, taking her mother’s maiden name as her last name.

Because of her mother’s familiarity with fabrics (after all, socialising with high society did give her some useful knowledge), she soon got a job at a local shop. Her mother was good with embroidery and sewing, so she soon rose in ranks in the shop, and even earned enough money to open a shop of her own. As Olympia grew older, her mother took her as her apprentice, and the mother-daughter duo worked day and night in their shop. While her mother was alive, the Palace had requested for her to work there, but her mother had repeatedly declined, preferring to work quietly and not be recognised by those of a higher rank. However, with her mother’s passing, Olympia decided to take on the offer at the Palace, hoping to give herself financial stability and security there.

At the palace, Olympia, just like her mother, excelled in being a Seamstress. Though she's been offered the job of Head Seamstress repeatedly, she has refused them all, preferring to just focus on her work. She’s in charge of making some dresses and clothes for royals and Selected, and she’s quite content with her job.

[ ♛ Relations ♛ ]

Olympia doesn’t have any other family that she knows of other than her mother, and gets along pretty well with most people.

➸ Mother ; Hera Chiang ; deceased
Olympia’s mother, Hera, died a while ago, leading to her getting her job at the palace. She doesn’t like to talk about her mother, though they enjoyed a good, close relationship.
➸ Father ; Dionysus Pak ; unknown
Olympia’s father, Dionysus, cast her and her mother to Caste Six when she was quite young. She doesn’t find any comfort in hating him, though she hasn’t forgiven him.

[ ♛ Other ♛ ]

Olympia’s favourite colours are rich purples and hazel, earthy colours. Her favourite flower is the tulip, and she has a secret love for the baker’s pastries. She has the childish habit of wishing upon stars for the littlest of wishes — for her order of silks to safely arrive, for her new ribbons to come out the right length, and for the queen to like her newest design. She’s not particularly fond of people who treat others lower than them like dirt, and she’s secretly afraid of large horses. If she had a theme song, it would be I by Taeyeon.

[ s ] ome people think that Eliza might just be a robot or a machine. While she's certainly a flesh and blood human, her work ethic and diligence tends to make it seem like otherwise. She likes to get things done efficiently, quickly. It has mostly to do with the fact that she has one event to dress someoe for after the other. Peace treaties require proper welcoming ceremonies, birthdays need parties, and the Selection quite clearly needs to be mapped out well to not crumble to pieces, and everyone has to looking absolutely stunning; you can thank Eliza for that. So, yes, she does tend to work a little faster than those around her, because that's what her job requires when she has so many people to dress.

Eliza does enjoy some relaxing moments, and she has a flair for the dramatic. She tends to exaggerate things--not lie, no, no--and make them slightly bigger than they seem. This, of course, is to get the proper attention the situation merits for, because it usually is something big or important if she has to take it to a superior. She, in all honesty, likes to blow things out of proportion most days. She likes to regale people with tales of her nonexistent woes; not for pity, but to relate to others.

Some days, Eliza gets a hot streak of laziness. In this instance, she's fairly good at passing off the baton to someone else. She knows how to goad people into doing her work for her, though she doesn't do it often. She has a knack for getting people to see her point, and to understand where she's coming from. She's an eloquent enough speaker, but that doesn't matter apparently at the sight of her pretty face.

[ s ] omehow, the title of Royal Stylist has become something passed down. Yemma Harrison, Eliza's mother, held the title with so much pride, she wanted a legacy. And that was what she got. Eliza's father had died only a month before her birth, caving into a long time sickness that had made him suffer. They don't know if it's hereditary, but Eliza feels as though her days are numbered.

Her childhood was solely focused on royalty and grand events. She, unsurprisingly, had no qualms with this. It meant she got to dress up, got to play princess for a little while. Her mother did need someone to bounce ideas off of, and that was what Eliza became. She was the understudy to the leading role, waiting for her time to shine.

As Eliza grew older, it became known that what her father had was hereditary, but nearly impossible to detect. She would be taken over by it slowly, but surely. So, her mother attempted to distract her from all of this. The chaos of knowing that her days would be ticking down to a final one closer than what should have been normal was always present. She had to balance visits to the doctor, schooling, and her mother's tutoring. By the time she was eighteen, she would surely have already been well over qualified with the capability to multitask.

Her mother then passed on her legacy to her, elated and saddened. Her years would be shortened, and her work may take a toll. But, Eliza never once thought of this as she was given the position of Royal Stylist; she was too concerned with being the greatest stylist they'd see yet.

  h i s t o r y
George was born the youngest of five brothers and his family will never let him live it down. He will never escape the stereotype of being the baby of the family. He grew up watching his brother excel at everything physical: sports, hunting, and always, always picking on him and anyone around his age. Their behavior always left a bitter taste in his mouth and made him stray away from physicality. He never played sports in school, but rather spent his time reading and playing chess.

The baby of the family never was able to live up to his family's expectations, not when his eldest brother became a guard, then the next a lawyer, the next a police member, a firefighter, and the last a military member. And when George was 16, he took his test, and landed himself in rank seven, because of his green thumb. His family had no idea their little Georgie was a botanist at heart. They ridiculed him, begging him to marry upwards, find someone of a better rank, not tarnish the Hanson family name.

But George was secretly so happy with his results. He applied for a position of gardener at the royal palace, hoping perhaps the fact his job was in the castle would please his disapproving relatives. No dice. They cared little for what George did, and all but banished him from their family. But George made his own family, becoming best friends with one of his fellow gardeners. He thinks the world of her. Whenever he hears and joke and begins to laugh, he looks to see if she thinks it's funny too. When a flower first blooms, he finds her to show her the beauty they brought to the world. He thinks maybe he could have deeper feelings for her, but as tender hearted as George is, he would never speak a word of this unless he had 100% confidence she felt the same way.

George isn't sure how he feels about the Selection. There's going to be many more people traipsing through the garden which he has poured so much of his heart into. He hopes dear god they are nice to the plants. Please guys, be nice to the plants.

  p e r s o n a l i t y
George is the kind of guy that makes you want to root for him. Ever the underdog, he never ceases to endeavor to persevere. He is a soft, tender teddy bear and most definitely a lover and not a fighter and it takes quiet a bit to get this cutie to raise his voice. His truest love in life is gardening. There is something so special about bringing life into the world, and bringing beauty. But flowers aren't simply beauty, they're useful. He hates to see others disrespect nature. George knows his family finds him a huge disappointment, yet he doesn't really care. He has his friends and his plants, and that's all he really needs.

{ρєяѕσηαℓιту} Minah lives in fictions, worlds of ink where the only possible danger is a paper cut. She is a very quiet individual in the real world, always teetering in that space between living and other. Like a spirit, she drifts between the bookshelves of the royal library, blending into the background. She has had quite a bit of practice being invisible and has discovered the best ways possible to go unnoticed. Though she is a brilliant writer, she is quite terrible at talking to people. Having rarely been around people her own age, and finding company in only two individuals for most of her life, Minah’s social expertise is quite sparse. She seems to have some supernatural ability to make every situation she is a part of awkward because she becomes easily flustered and nervous around human beings. Her experiences have made her quite the misanthrope. Her grandmother used to say she was half a cynic and half a dreamer. Minah has little faith in people. She believes there is an inherent cruelty in all human beings. They are unpredictable and irrational creatures. It’s safer to observe them from a distance. That doesn’t mean, of course, that she doesn’t sometimes dream of what it would be like to have friends, to see the world and enjoy every minute of it. But Minah knows better. She knows that her life doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. She knows that people always leave in the end. She knows that love, if it does exist, is chaos in it’s most natural form. And so long as she sticks to her facts, she doesn’t have to worry about ever getting hurt.

{нιѕтσяу} It was a bright spring morning in Great Britain and Minah’s mother was already dead. Something had gone wrong during childbirth -- Minah’s mother knew going through the pregnancy might kill her, knew as soon as her labor pains began that it would be the end of her. But she went through with it anyway. Minah’s life, following her bittersweet bringing into the world, was only a series of more tragedies. She was raised by her father, who worked several odd jobs in order to keep them both alive and was easily stressed by his workload. As a child, Minah’s job was always to take care of him. She idolized her father as a girl because he was all she knew. Of course, as a child she didn’t realize that some nights when he left her alone and claimed to be working, he was drinking. She didn’t realize that he was locked in custody battles with her mother’s family, whom she had never met. Though there was a part of her that acknowledged her father’s mood swings and bad temperament, she always excused him for it because she wanted to love and be loved in return.

When she was nine years old, her father began packing. He had been on the phone a lot the week before they left Britain, constantly yelling about trifles she didn’t understand. And then they were on a plane and her father was smiling like any father might. He said they were going on a trip to a foreign kingdom. He said she would like it there. He neglected to mention, however, that he would not be joining her in this strange kingdom of Illea. The plane landed, they got in a rental car, and her father pulled up next to the palace gates. He got out of the car for only a moment to heave her yellow suitcase out of the car and give her a kiss on the forehead. He said he needed to go run an errand and he would be right back. And then he climbed back in the driver’s seat and Minah watched him leave, stranded at the castle gates with a yellow suitcase and no clue as to what she was supposed to do. She waited by the gates for some time before a guard came and asked her if she was lost. He had only taken her two feet inside the palace before an old woman was coming to her side, inspecting her with ancient eyes. Her grandmother, she would later learn. Minah was difficult immediately, demanding to know where her father was. The old woman was patient, even as Minah charged outside and sat in front of the castle gates, waiting for her father’s return. When night fell the old woman took Minah inside, helped her change and wash up, and tucked her into bed.

For the next three months, Minah sat outside every day, waiting for her father to come back to her. And then one day she realized he had left for good and that people always disappoint.

Minah was taken into her grandmother’s care, sent into a strange new world. Her grandmother, she found, was a kind but very strict woman. Having lived in terrible poverty in Britain, Minah had never been to a real school. Her grandmother taught her to read and write, taught her about the world and New Asia, which Minah had new little about. Minah, who had once been a fairly bright and temperamental child, became subdued after the realization of her father’s neglect. Reading became solace in the world and she pushed herself hard to catch up with the other children. She felt alone in Illea, even with her grandmother’s quiet guidance and companionship. She wanted someone to love her. But the world was cruel and people were worse, and life went on without her. Watching other people be happy made her even sadder, so she built herself a palace of her own with the books she read and escaped to a world where no one could ever leave her because no one was there to begin with.

Six months ago, her grandmother finally passed away. It was a peaceful death, but it left Minah in chaos. She was truly alone now, with nowhere to go. Out of pity, most likely, the royal family allowed her to stay and declared her the head librarian because she knew the space better than anyone. She now spends her days sorting through books and quietly existing, silent and afraid as a drifting spirit.

She may stumble over words or struggle her way through translations when trying to converse in the common New Asian tongue. Also, when she speaks she still has traces of an English accent. personality

Blair is complicated and lives in constant fear due to never knowing what's real and what isn't, often believing that his hallucinations are real. He's afraid of losing himself and harming someone he cares about and as such doesn't really get close to anybody. He instead keeps to himself and lives on the fringes, always observing and never participating as its safer for everyone involved. He believes in things other people don't as after all wouldn't you prefer to believe in dragons and unicorns, than to think your extremely sick? He never really speaks, answering only in monosyllables which makes a lot of people believe he is rude, he isn't he just tries to limit his interaction with people as much as possible. If you can get him to speak, he can be quite friendly and gives quite good advice about romantic issues after all the years of observing human behaviour. He always looks people directly in the eyes and rarely blinks which unnerves quite a lot of them.

                              ───but don't───
                              description
                     ───let it define you───

history

Blair was born into a very poor family as the youngest of seven children( through a couple of years later his parents had another child) . As a baby, he seemed healthy enough despite the slight malnourishment all the children had due to the family not having enough money to buy enough food to go round . He had a healthy set of lungs on him, often screaming especially when one of his siblings decided it was a good idea to pick him up by the legs and dangle him in the air.
When he was 18 months old. his mother returned to work leaving him in the care of his eldest sister then 13 and she sat him on her knee while doing her sewing work in order to earn a bit more cash and when she wasn't working, she would sit and play with him until their parents return, when his mother would take over keeping her baby close to her while she prepared the evening meal: usually boiled rice as it was cheap. She would then put Blair to bed and sat singing by his bedside until he fell asleep and usually Blair's other siblings would also sit there listening.
It was an idyllic childhood despite the poverty but things changed before Blair even really got the chance to grow up. When he was four years old, his eldest brother got into an accident at work which paralysed him from the waist to down. This crippled the already poor family who couldn't afford to feed everyone as it was and caused Blair's eldest sister to go the most dreaded profession all for a poor family: prostitution but it was the only way to keep food on the table. The changes upset the young child who had no idea what was going on and he didn't know where his sister went and why he couldn't play with her anymore or why his brother couldn't get up and walk. He also didn't know why he couldn't see his mother as often as now she was taking triple shifts at the laundrette she worked at.
But life went on and Blair grew, reaching eight years old, only for another tragedy to strike the family. Blair started to see things that weren't really there, often crying out the fire was going to get him. It worried the family immensely as they could tell something was seriously wrong with the baby of the family but they couldn't afford a doctor and gradually Blair grew worse and worse not being able to distinguish between reality and his visions anymore. His eldest brother already feeling useless because of his legs took this the worst as he felt it was his fault and he should have been able to prevent his brother from becoming lost to them and took up as Blair's caretaker playing a game of real and not real with him. What Blair saw often troubled him as the main themes were blood and burning and he didn't know how to deal with them, often lashing out at those who were nearest scratching and fighting against them when they restrained him. His worse hallucinations often end in seizures which scare the family even more and lead to Blair's relationship with them deteriorating as they are scared of him. But his eldest brother stuck by him. Blair's illness also made things worse for the family as no-one wanted to be associated with the "crazy boy" as most the town had started to call him which lead to Blair's parents losing their jobs, meaning the family fell into true poverty, not being able to afford to feed themselves which was made worse when Blair's mother and sister both fell pregnant and they had another two mouths to feed. So in order not to be a burden anymore, Blair and his older brother left knowing they were holding the family back and his older brother got him a job at the palace as a stable boy. How Blair doesn't know because his hallucinations are still as bad as ever, in fact if he had to say they were probably getting worse. But the worse of them never happen at work, through he has lost his grip on reality more than once but no-one ever seems to mention it. Through he is called names behind his back. Now the Selection is happening and Blair has more people to deal with, he just hopes he doesn't hurt any of them.

» Birthday: August 27th

Gender: Female
» Sexuality: Heterosexual
» Relationship Status: Single.

Caste: Six.
» Nationality: Illean.
» Occupation: Child of Castle.

description

Appearance:

Face Claim: Ruairi Luke.
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 114 lbs.
Hair: Dark and straight, her hair color is common in her family. While the rest of her family is majorly brown haired, only a choice few have dark, inky hair like her. She wears it down with a middle part. Her hair is naturally thick and heavy, reaching down to her mid back. She doesn't really know how to work with hair, so she just leaves it down or ties it in a pony tail or bun.
Skin: Likewise with her hair, Nir has a darker complexion than her family. Her skin is brown and it only develops into a darker tan under the rays of the sun. She has no freckles or blemishes across of her face. However, on her crippled legs, there is significant bruising even years after her accident. It's healed over, but the skin tones vary the slightest.
Eyes: The one feature common among her family, her eyes are almond shaped and has irises of a pretty green-blue color. Her eyes are naturally large and only look larger by the length of her lashes as well as the sharp arch of her thick, dark eyebrows.
Body: Nir has a really nice figure. Of course, it isn't as noticeable in a wheelchair. Her legs are nicely shaped as her hips are full. She has an ample bottom and C-cupped breasts. Her shoulders are smaller just like her waist, proportioning her larger bottom and breasts with her hips and shoulders.
Voice: Nir has a really charming voice. You would think her too be intimidating just by her face, though when she speaks, her voice is soft and endearing.
Markings: None.

Personality: Nir is impulsive and tends to speak before she thinks, which can get her into trouble. She is a highly skilled manipulator with extremely questionable morals and she has proven she is willing to do anything to get what she wants and protect the people she loves, even at the expense of others' lives. Still, she does seem to value the ties of friendship, though highly selectively with her closer friends while also befriending nearly every stranger she meets. While charming and alluring, Nir is quite the deceiver. She loves to play mind games with everyone and messes with people's heads to get what she wants. Her deceiving ways aren't meant to be malevolent at all. She just finds it fun sometimes to trick people. She is very stubborn and vocal about her wants and needs, while having the tendency to announce those orders out to whomever is in the vicinity. Nir is very energetic, finding herself becoming restless and unfocused if sitting in one place for too long, though there isn't much she can do about that. She can easily lead everyone astray, but does not ever feel remorse. For her, guilt is an emotion of the weak. One could say that side of her comes naturally with her overwhelming arrogance. If she likes someone, she will make it clear as day. If she want to demolish their guts, her actions will do the talking in that situation. It is best not to get on her bad side. But, if somehow one appeals to Nir's good side, they will find her to be a pleasant person to spend their time with. Her humor is clever, she surprisingly can put others before herself, and wouldn't let any harm come to those she cares about. The first encounter with her will make or break someone's chances of becoming someone she places on her kiss-list... or kill-list. Despite her condition, Nir shows an optimistic view of life, displaying all smiles and laughs. She is happy, but every so often, when she finds herself lagging behind everyone else her age, not able to do the same things, a bitter monster in her comes out. Trapped in a wheelchair, she is ashamed of the contraption that allows her to move around still.

description

Life's Story: The second child of a rather boring family, Nir grew up with a rather boring childhood. They were a small family of four with her having one older brother, Vana. Their family wasn't particularly better off than the others in their caste, but they made well with their jobs. Haven Gavaldi worked as a seamstress while Gillian took on a job as a driver around their city. Nir didn't often see her father as he was out upon hours end driving folks around. Her relationship with her parents is a nice one. She adores her mother, but the sweet woman was always busy with the work she brought home. Her back would be bent over another piece of fabric, putting so much time and effort she wished she could spend with her. Nir tried to do it along with her, but it turned out that she certainly did not have the aptitude for the work. Instead, she got along more with her father. He, too, was nearly always busy with work. However, she recalled that whenever he came home from work, he'd sit down in this crickety, old rocking chair in their living room and she would sit down with him, eager to hear all his stories of the different customers he had throughout the day. She was fascinated by all the faces her father met, more so that she just was fascinated by people in general.

Nir, as a rather social child, was interested in interacting with everyone that she met, even greeting strangers on the street with a pearly smile. Nir used to go out a lot with her brother because the two were left alone to their own devices for some time after school until their parents came home. Vana, two years older than her, was her role model. He was everything that she hoped to be when she was older, or rather what she idealized. He was intelligent and charismatic, some things she admired greatly about him. Nir followed him everywhere, even when he chose to hang out with his own friends. Nir took every opportunity she could when introducing the two of them to new people to inform them that, "I'm Nir, and he's Vana. Together, we're Nirvana!" She loved to tell everyone that the two of their names together formed the name of some older band. Vana wasn't as amused by it as her, but she never failed to make him smile through her excitement. Nir certainly thought of him as her best friend, even if he didn't always think the same of her. Nevertheless, they were closer than most siblings.

Unfortunately, things changed in a bitter turn for Nir. At the age of twelve, she was involved in an accident with her brother that resulted in the loss of movement in her legs. Paralyzed, she was forced to use a wheelchair to navigate around once she began to heal from whatever happened. Nir doesn't really remember what it is that happened to her, and Vana tells her that he can't seem to remember the incident either. When she had awaken after her accident, learning that her legs were no longer functional, she couldn't seem to remember not only the accident, but the people around. A case of temporary memory loss, Nir did not recognize Vana, nor did she recognize her parents. They threw information at her, hoping that she would remember. And over the weeks, she did remember. But, she did not remember everything. Nir could recall everything except the incident that crippled her.

It's now been five years since her accident. She still does not recall how she lost the function of her legs and it makes her uncomfortable when people ask about it. Nir has even debated coming up with a new story on her own as to what happened to her legs and once in a while, she will exaggerate and weave a wonderful tale. With the inability to participate in the same things as other children, Nir takes the opportunity to fine tune her other functions. For instance, her mouth. She has a lashing tongue, sharp and bluntly honest. She can be perceived as opinionated, but it's only because she's entirely biased. If she were able to do the same things, Nir might have a different perspective on it.

It has taken time for her to adjust to rolling herself around in a wheelchair, but after five years of sitting in one, Nir's a pro at getting around. Recently, Vana went searching for work and when he came home with the proposition of working at the palace of the Schreaves as a guard, Nir couldn't pass up the opportunity to go along with him. As usual, she invited herself and imposed her presence on him at the palace. Her parents were reluctant, scared of what might happen to her without them with her. But, taking on responsibility, she promised to stay out of trouble and let Vana work in peace. In her own time at the palace, she rolls around in her chair around the different locations. She's known to spend a great amount of time in the kitchens, helping out where she can. Nir also enjoys playing with the younger children of the palace workers. She's friendly with several of the workers, even has befriended those above her caste. Still as social as ever, she enjoys the company of any person, befriending strangers rather easily. Now, with the Selection happening at the palace, Nir is excited to see a large group of fity come for the princes' hands. The more people, the better.

Teagan is a very kind and caring person. She’s always willing to help out others. When her father died she even took over his position as gardener at the castle even though it wasn’t what she wanted to do with her life. Oh sure she loved helping him garden, but what she loved even more was dancing. But she did it because she knew her father would have wanted to. That and it meant they weren’t forced to find a replacement for her father. Teagan can be very bubbly and optimistic and at times that optimism makes her pretty gullible as well. She’s a very gullible person and falls for things easy unless the person makes it obvious they are lying. Teagan is a very hard worker when it comes to keeping the garden perfect something she learned from her father. He taught her to always work her hardest at the things she wanted to achieve so that’s what she does. She always knows how much he cared for the garden and wants to make him proud. Because Teagan loves spending her time outside she’s also a very curious and adventurous person when it comes to the world of the outdoors. Though Teagan is a really friendly person she is also a compulsive liar. She can’t help it. She lies whenever the truth makes her even slightly nervous without even thinking about it. The first lie that comes to her is usually the lie that comes out of her mouth without her even deciding to say it. Luckily for her most of the time people believe her lies since she has a pretty good poker face when it comes down to it. The only person who never believed her lies was her father.

History:
description
Teagan was born seventeen years ago on March fifteenth to Joseph Malone and Fiona Dennis. Fiona having never wanted kids or to be with Joseph forever left shortly after Teagan was born. See Teagan’s parents were never engaged let alone married. Because sex without marriage was illegal though the story every thought to be true was that Teagan’s mother died in childbirth. Joseph was devastated when Fiona left but never once blamed Teagan. He adored Teagan and raised her to the best of his abilities. When she was old enough he even sat down and explained to her the true story of her mother and made sure she understood the story she had to tell everyone else if she was ever asked.

When Teagan was six years old she started helping her father with the gardening at the castle. The fact that Teagan even wanted to help and learn gardening from him made him very happy and he taught her everything he could about it. Soon it became their daily routine to spend their time together during the day outside in the garden making sure it stayed perfect.

Though gardening was something Teagan enjoyed when she was seven she found something she enjoyed even more; dancing. She’d seen plenty of dancing whenever the royal family would have a ball, but her favorite dancing was the dancing she sometimes saw famous dancers do on tv. She started teaching herself how to dance and completely fell in love with it. It was something she wanted to do with her life even though she knew that chances of her ever getting to were slim. And then her dad died.

When Teagan was fifteen years old her father died in a Southern Rebel raid on the castle. Teagan was devastated and heartbroken to lose her father. She already didn’t have a mother and now she was an orphan. As a result of her father’s death Teagan decided to take over her father’s job because she couldn’t bare to see it go to someone else, she loved gardening anyways even if it wasn’t what she wanted to do as a career, and this way a replacement wouldn’t need to be found since she was already there. That and it meant she had a home and wouldn’t be forced to live on the streets and become an eight.
