Catching up on Classics (and lots more!) discussion

I like picking an author and reading everything I can that they wrote. I started doing this using Project Gutenberg a few years ago. I read everything listed on PG in the order it appears under the author's name. I read everything, non-fiction as well as fiction, the only things I skip are repeats (short stories that show up in several editions, for example, I only read once.) I read all of Mark Twain that way, as well as Lewis Carroll. In 2015, I started on Charles Dickens. I would like to continue with things that I can find on PG such as Herman Melville, Jane Austen, Arthur Conan Doyle, etc. I am also listening to certain authors via audio books, currently on Agatha Christie.

I read through Conan Doyle last year and was struck by two topics: (1) how dependent women were financially on their fathers and/or husbands (many of the mysteries were about women being manipulated for control of their money), and (2) how much communications technology has changed--people would write a letter asking for an appointment, or if urgent send a telegram or a messenger boy.
