It's always a rush to get that new release that you've been waiting for by your favorite author or scoring a great find of those hard to find horror paperbacks at a second hand bookstore. Share your latest find that you're excited about!

You have an addiction! ;-)

Monica Go | 57 comments Hellooooo I just received for Christmas The Red and the Black by Stendhal . Also, I'm waiting for A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness and The Grownup by Gillian Flynn . Instead, this Neon Angel A Memoir of a Runaway by Cherie Currie never came my way :( I'm still hoping it will come.

message 7: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I've been trying to purchase more "collectible" books and only borrow the books I want to just read. I've recently purchased signed, slipcased versions of Wraith/NOS4A2 and Headgames by Joe Hill, and The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. They are gorgeous!

message 8: by Lena (new)

Lena You should post pictures.

Lena Your library is looking dope. That Lock & Key should blow up in price soon enough. I listened to the audible which was incomprehensible at times.

I hated the audible! Too much relies on the art. Have you read the series?

message 12: by Lena (new)

Lena Only in audio, it was a free group listen awhile back. Everyone said the audio was only good if you had the comic in front of you. I'm sure that's true. I was often so lost.

message 13: by D20 (new)

D20 | 173 comments Letters To The Damned is excellent in audio!

Apart from that, new acquisitions include The Jersey Devil, and The Black Prism

message 14: by Sebastien (new)

Sebastien | 2 comments I just picked up Hidden Bodies, Hex, Mongrels, The Golem, and Wrapped in Skin.

I'm two stories into Wrapped in Skin, and I can't wait to get to the others. : )

It's really too bad that Darkfuse is dropping out of the book publishing game, but I've been able to pick up quite a few of their back catalog to fill in the holes of my collection. If you type in Darkfuse as the search word in Amazon, a whole slew of great reads will pop up for $2.99 and less. I've been able to grab many Greg F. Gifune, William Meikle, Hunter Shea, and many more this past week.

message 16: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 52 comments My Best Friend's Exorcism by Grady Hendrix

It's not often that I buy a book for it's cover only. I don't even care if this book is dreadful, just look at the cover! It's glorious!!

Where do you score your great book buys - used book stores? eBay or other auction site? Garage/rummage sales/flea markets? Amazon? Or other?

message 18: by D20 (new)

D20 | 173 comments Amazon sales and Marketplace, Alibris books, Abe books. Sometimes Ebay. If I want a book, especially an old one, I'll ferret out the price differentials.

I've perused through Abe books a few times, but mainly Amazon an eBay. Ill have to check out Alibi and Marketplace.

message 20: by Lena (new)

Lena BookOutlet has great prices and I keep a wishlist.

With Amazon Marketplace you just have to remember the postage. I can find most older books there for a penny, unless they're very popular.

message 22: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Bea (gekrepten) | 14 comments I just went on thrift books earlier today and bought:

African Psycho by Alain Mabanckou
Dark Harvest by Norman Partridge
&
The Halloween Man by Douglas Clegg

message 23: by Lena (new)

Lena This came!

Book Box I made myself from the sale racks at BookOutlet.
The Hunger - $8.59
Love in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction - $2.19
Dead Iron - $1.89
The Waking Engine - $1.29
Shipping - $5
Total - $18.96
Other than The Hunger I had never heard of these books but the blurbs and prices looked good!
FYI BookOutlet just started a program where I can send $10 coupons to anyone whose never tried them before and subsequently receive one myself. PM me if you are interested!
