The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon by David Grann but it is historical so I'm not sure you will like it

No, but I have it in my library and have been interested in it as well.

Just about done with Zoo by James Patterson. I really like it and kept my interest.

Was Zoo really gory? I haven't read it yet but was curious. Am thinking about reading A Zen for Murder by Leighann Dobbs for my Z book.

No, I didn't think it was gory at all

I finally finished on new years day technically, but I am counting it! Zero Day was my final book. I really enjoyed it. Government, security, hacking, secrets. Pretty good!
