The Kiss of Deception
question
Can we just take a moment to talk about that PLOT TWIST?

Spoiler Alert! If you haven't read the book then don't continue reading.
Maybe I'm just daft or not as a great reader as I thought I was, but I did NOT see that plot twist coming! I don't think I even realized it, I mean I thought it was weird that they went from assassin to Rafe, then back to assassin. I guess my little mind had already established that the tall, dark, broody Rafe was the assassin and the irrelevant, but kind Kaden the prince. I actually had to put the book down to process all of this. So, my question is were you as deceived and dumbfounded as I was, or did you catch it and totally see it coming?

Don't worry, you weren't the only one! I was so shocked from the twist I was screaming. I didn't see it coming because as you stated, Pearson labeled her chapter headings so well that it played with our minds. Kudos to her though, to cause such deception.

The same thing happened to me! I was convinced Kaden was the prince! However, I'm happy it turned out that he was Rafe :)
Me too! I actually really like Rafe, but apparently Kaden is the people's choice, which I hate. I think Rafe and Lia have more of a history and I hope the author has the good sense of keeping them together.
: while and after reading this book, I was convinced that I prefer Rafe. But here comes book 2 and I'm like, Rafe on this chapter then kaden on another. And after reading book 2 I prefer kaden more now. God!! It's hard to decide..

I must admit im really confused. I read the book (Well... listened to the audiobook) and I did read it in separate chunks but I'm still nit sure what exactly the plot twist is... this is the lamest thing i've ever admitted! And as it turns out listening to it suring exam season meant I didnt take in as much so what exactly was the plot twist???
This totally messes up my shipping. I prefer Lia to end up with the assassin but she's got more chemistry with Rafe. It was so much easier when I assumed Rafe was the assassin.
Yes I know right! I totally shipped her with the assassin but now I just love Rafe.

I caught it only because the assassin was very calculated in how he talked to people. He made sure not to leave a trail behind when he hunted down Lia--he didnt ask questions of people that made it obvious he was looking for her. The prince on the other hand left a trail behind by bribing people to tell him information about Lia. I thought Rafe was the price because he was not at all tactful while getting close to Lia which is characteristic of how the prince related to people. While Kaden was very easy to trust and was kind which is exactly what a trained assassin would do because he's skilled in not drawing attention to himself as he hunts down his prey. With that being said I was still second guessing myself until right before we find out who is the prince and who is the assassin.
