Jenny wrote: "What are you planning on reading this summer? Have any summer reading goals?"My goal is to keep up with my reading challenge. I just bumped it from 250 to 300 yesterday so I'm a few books behind.
I'm also aiming to read more new to me authors and read some books I've bought in the past 2-3 years that I haven't had a chance to read yet.
My goal is to read these books in June, but more likely I'll read them over the course of the summer. :P

I started a TBR, but mine will probably change, knowing me! I really concentrating on finishing series right now.
Then just some I own that I want to read:
And then probably some Sarah Dessan books and other contemporaries that are fun to read by the pool :)

Looking forward to buddy-reading
with you, Oda!! :D I've owned a copy of it for years, so I'm glad I'm finally going to get around to reading it, haha.
Well, I'm hoping to finish some of my series re-reads this summer! I want to re-read:Harry Potter (books 4-7, I've finished re-reading the first 3):
Chaos Walking:
His Dark Materials:
I also need to read books 2 and 3 in the Wildwood series:
Plus I have some yearly challenges I want to tackle––i.e. reading more books I've bought that I haven't read yet, reading more adult fiction and non-fiction, etc. But I'm not sure which books I'll be reading for those challenges yet. :P
I'm hoping to find some time to reread a few series and finish off the ones I have sequels to. If I could ever catch up on my GR challenge lol!
My Summer reading goal is the same as the goal I've had since the start of the year: read as many as I can of the books I've had sat on my Kindle waiting to be read for a long time. I mean, some of these books I've had since I got my first Kindle and went nuts buying books for it. So, I want to make a point of reading as many of those as possible.I'm not saying I won't get distracted by shiny new books - the book I'm currently reading is a shiny new one that distracted me, after all. I just want to be able to see a decrease in the number of books sitting on my Kindle waiting for me to read them. I'm not saying a decrease in my to-read list on here... That's something totally different, and unlikely to happen. Mind you, even just the decrease in the number of books on my Kindle waiting to be read might be unlikely. But, as long as I can see I've read a decent chunk of the ones that have been on there the longest, I'll be happy with that.
I'm not going to list titles here though, because I'm not too sure which ones I'll read. All I can tell you is that they're a mixture of classics, self-published books, and traditionally published books... I think mainly the first two.

For June, since it is Pride Month, I want to read some LGBTQ+ books:
I know I'm not going to get to all of them but these are just some I would really like to pick up during the summer.
Ashly wrote: "For June, since it is Pride Month, I want to read some LGBTQ+ books:

Ehh, call me stupid but I dont remember any lgbt elements in shelter? I read it over xmas.

I'm rereading
and
And I'm going to read
and that's about what I've planned so far... Oh, and the first couple of books in the Discworld series as well!
@Ashly - Ooh, I'll have to check some of those out! I've been looking for more LGBTQ+ books to read. :) @Irene - I'm planning to re-read His Dark Materials soon, too! I haven't read them in like 12 years, but my younger sister is reading them right now and it's making me want to read them again, haha.
I know for sure that I definitely want to read A Gathering of Shadows, The Rose and the Dagger, and ACOMAF. But that's all I've got so far; too many to name. I was thinking of doing the summer reading program at the library, but I think I'm going to take a break this year and work my way through my TBR list and work on some of the books on my shelf.
Well.... I really REALLY hope to get to all these books this summer, but reading slumps, camping, work, college prep, High School graduation/Trade School graduation, family parties/plans, etc will probably cause me to read a lot less than I would like. I will definitely be reading these due to planned buddy reads:
Others
Brigid, It's my favorite series of all time so yeah, can't wait to be back. Jenny, I haven't reread them before :D
Awesome! I remember really loving the first book when I was younger, and I liked the second and third books but I think they kind of went over my head. So I'm curious to see how I'll feel about them as an adult! :)
I've only read the first book in his Dark Materials. I read it as an adult, and I just didn't get into it. I do want to try it again sometime!

While reading some YA stuff that I've been wanting to read, I've decided that I'm also going to make my way through Rory Gilmore's Reading List. I may also blog about it while also incorporating other things I'm reading, but I don't know yet.

For those that are interested, the Rory Gilmore Reading List is a list of books that Rory's character read while on the show during Gilmore Girls. She is your definite bookworm, and reads it all! I've seen lots of people try this challenge!

One of the books I'm reading now,
is on the list! YAY! As of right now, I've only read 40 books on the list.

Same here, Victoria! I'm such a mood reader that it's hard to follow a specific list. I get very distracted by shiny new books!!

Nice Oda!! I was able to read a lot in the beginning of the week, but not so much this weekend! Doing lots of cleaning :)

Yes that's great, Oda! Thanks for making the thread. Looking forward to buddy-reading with you guys. :)
I gave up on the Rory Gilmore list. Itw as too overwhelming and some of the books I probably wouldn't read. So now I'm just kind of making my way through my to read shelf on Goodreads.
My Rory Gilmore Challenge will be a long time challenge. I'd like to try to read 1 book a month from the list, but not going to kick myself if I don't!

Like I said, I change my mind quite a bit on my TBR :)

Hence making my Summer reading goal just to make a dent in the number of books sat on my Kindle waiting to be read. Which ones I'll get to, how many of them there will be, and what order they'll be read in, even I don't know right now though. Haha!

I only discivered that there was a rory reading challange this year. Saw it and thought huh. Some of them I have read because of school and some of them I will be reading because I want to but dont think I will get to all of them tho.

Jenny wrote: "Yeah, I just love making TBRs. Its good to see what books I have still have to read, too, sometimes I forgot what I even have on my Kindle or my bookshelves!"I know what you mean... I have way too many books to remember what they all are. I could really do with going through my Kindle and making a note of the books I have copies of, but haven't yet read. I almost did the other day. But then my Kindle told me how many books it has on it, and I decided to just pick the first book I hadn't read and start reading it instead... Sounded so much more fun! ;)
