Ellie Cooper comes from a long line of witches but wishes she could be normal. When she nearly kills herself cursing a vampire, her dislike of her heritage deepens. She must find a way to accept her magic or forsake her family.

After feeding on a witch, 693-year-old vampire Charles Dumphrey wakes to find he is living a human teenage life, complete with parents, school and girls. He must adjust to his new life as a human and find a way to break the curse Ellie put on him.

Lee is a werewolf who is not yet shifting regularly. He worries about who he will be when he regulates. Lee searches for the balance between his humanity and the wolf before the wolf takes over.

All three have to overcome their uncertainties and accept themselves in order to save Ellie’s life.

Struggling to get ino this one at the moment.

Prologue: (view spoiler)[For an old vampire, the inner dialog and way of speaking just doesn't fit. Also, i'm not sure I liked the rushed start and feel to the book. Hope it gets better. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 2: (view spoiler)[I kind of wish the chapters were a bit shorter to make digesting information easier, but I also wish there was better, if not more demonstration of Charles' emotions. I do like how there are multiple points of view and like the male being a vampire turned human instead of a girl. (hide spoiler)]

That is exactly what puzzles me as well..

Chapter 8 (view spoiler)[nothing is happening.. Ripping a vampire of his vampy senses isn't a good way to start a story to begin with. And why Lee is even there?

Ending.. I deeply apologize to the author but I found this book in need of a huge story re-write (view spoiler)[there was absolutely no conflict. Characters lacked anything really. I let some things slide but the overall plot as well as the lack of character development was disappointing..

Charlie does not behave as a 300 old vampire. He makes vampires look like children. Ellie's magic which she worked on through most of the second part had no real payoff when they were captured. Lee saved them. And the end with Charlie and Ellie getting together wasn't all that heart-warming because they individually lacked depth and lacked the proper build up to this romance. I know what effort writing a book requires and I respect that. I can see the writing, even if it needed to be shortened, was good so all the best for the author with her upcoming books.
