I'm gradually warming up the Rhysand. I wasn't to sure about him in ACOTAR but oh my goodness he's awesome and hilarious.
Damn I love rhysand so much now! And I'm hoping that feyre Will have an encounter with tamlin soon.. idk I just want to see her coming up for herself
Oh man oh man, I was intrigued by Rhysand in ACOTAR, but now I genuinely like him as a person. I love that his actions -- though totally flawed and messed up in the first book -- do make a lot of sense considering the circumstances. I don't necessarily want to excuse it, but I understand what he did and why. Hands down, this is my favourite kind of character development. Also, Cassian is my fave. More Cassian please.
I am loving this book much more than ACOTAR, and while I love Rhysand much much more than I did Tamlin, I still can't seem to shake how needing Feyre in order to save their world, in one way or another, has shaped the reason both these men were initially interested in her. There was some major manipulation of Feyre revealed on both Tamlin and Rhysand's part. I understand there is a bond between Rhysand and Feyre (which I am sure many of us have speculated about what that means), but I am still a little hesitant in pairing her up with either of these men at this point. Am I the only one that feels that way?
I have really enjoyed this next chunk of the book, introducing characters, doing a little world building, more character development. I also noticed the paralles SJM drew in comparing the two love interests. Where Tamlin basically ignored Feyre's nightmares (I don't see how he could not know what she was going through), Rhys makes sure she's ok by talking about what he went through. Sorry, but Tamlin was under that mountain for 3ish months whereas Rhys endured 50 years of Amarantha.
I like how there is this buildup of friendship and trust forming between Feyre and Rhys with only slight shameless flirtation.
Also....everytime SJM wrote that a character gave another character a 'vulgar gesture', in my head I'm like 'omg just said they flipped the bird hahah'
