2017 Reading Challenge discussion

This was an enjoyable and fast read. Really interesting introduction to a complicated and little known piece of American history. The book allowed me to learn a little about the orphan trains of the late 19th and early 20th century. I know desire to read more about them. I wouldn't say that this was a particularly deep insight kind of book. It would be good for young readers or those who are just entering historic fiction as a genre.

I thought this was a great book. So sweet at times but sad too.

i absolutly loved this book...is it just me or does vivians teacher remind you of miss beedle from little house on the praire

Yes I agree! I found myself thinking of Little House too during certain parts of the book.

I've never read little house on the prairie, but the character reminded me a bit of the teacher from Matilda.
