Hey girls. Sorry I couldn't make it with the last book but I am really looking forward for this one :D

Brain fest! Yay!!
This time I'll be not the one who didn't finish the book. (I remember the first VF hangout. Bonny said that there is always someone in a book club who didn't read the book.)

I started the book yesterday and I'm somewhere in the middle - of course I was dreaming about it last night... unfortunatly not about the sexy times, but the being chased by Zombies and trigger happy gunmen part :O
aside of that I like it so far, very steamy... not sure what to think about Ali? I don't really get her character... but maybe she's just so shell-shocked, and that's intentional? Looking forward to see where this is going

Uh-oh, book dreams! I did that to myself a few years ago, where I read Wool, and Parable of the Sower, and some other dystopian story all back to back. Started having dreams where everyone I knew was crammed into survival shanty towns, or roaming a wasteland.

And yeah, we won't get super deep characters with this one, but that's ok. It was a fun book, meant to be all about getting it on, and it worked ok for what it was. :) If anything I was expecting it to be weaker than it was, so I had fun with this one.

Yes, I agree and was aware that it was not going to deliver a deep character study ;)
I admit that somethings where bothering me - and it was not the zombies, but the way the guys acted. There were quite some scenes that I found borderline rapey...especially in the sex scene where she's keeping saying no, but they just have sex anyways... I think a no is as a no and not a challenge to change her mind...
Well - anyways... I deceided to just go with it and in the end it was an entertaining read and had me laughing a time or two

Okay I might let my vampire porn for next month and will start with this. Looks interesting and funny (not the rape part). I just want something quickreading now.

Yeah, if you tell yourself that these people were already together, really, you're just watching them film a home-porn/zombie-flick, the attitude of the guys is less irritating. I pretended there was a secret safe word she could have used, and that made it better. It would've been nice if that wasn't necessary though.

If the sex scenes are not engrossing (I'm not sure this is the right word here. If it's wrong, please inform me the right one, so I can use for different books :) ) I'll definitely not like the book. It's so boring so far (I'm not that far, still trying to read from my mobile ). I really need to read some vaginal quality time (Is it a common phrase in the group or I just made it up? )

Engrossing is right. :) About 23%, after he's been "can we have sex now? how about now? it's been 5 minutes, maybe now?" she goes ahead and pounces him and you start getting multiple page long sexy times. If you take it seriously as written there's a lot of not-actually-consenting going on, but that's why I pretend they're acting out a fantasy for a homemade porn tape. With non-consent it's horrifying, but without the consent issues, it's hot. :)

Well I am 30% and so far ... well I am ashamed I like it. Okay, there is no plot what so ever so far and it is kinda refreshing you know. You just watch people how they go through post apocalyptic life. Kinda like Walking Dead without all the "societies" and evil men. Of course it is post apocalyptic porn (with my chance, the guys would be ugly as fuck if this happen to me). I guess after Milk and Honey I need something not so complicated :D

I am finished. I was wondering and yeah the date of publishing is 2012 when Walking dead aired since 2010. My intuition about fanfiction confirmed. However it really was porn book with glimpse of plot. I little got the Ali's character but the others cavemen were mystery for me. it was like "okay, let's play it hursher than in normal days on normal dates but still make her our sextoy"

Will there be a hangout for these books?

I think we talked about waiting until after the official hangout this time? If so we can pop up a choice of July 6 or July 9. In fact I think it's close enough now, I'll just start with that, if anyone wants it sooner, or has another day they want considered, just speak up. :)

Well I think gossiping about (and after) official hangout won't be bad at all.

From 4th (half day for this day) until 7th july is ramadan fest here . I'm not muslim but my family and friends are, so I may need to attend some meetings to make them happy :) For now I have to say 9th.

Do you read alt pick? I have to say I am enjoying it more than main book.

I skipped the alt for now, I had too many library books coming available all at once I wanted to get to! But Meljean Brooks is usually good, I liked the first couple books in her series that the alt comes from. So I'll get around to this one, probably when it's available in a collection with some other short stories someday.

Both dates would work for me and I'm looking very much forward to the hangout. So far I've not read the alt, but maybe I'll get around to it next week, so I might be done with it in time for the hangout :)

Sorry I haven't been around much the past few weeks. School is wrapping up for my son, so we've been arranging summer activities, vacation, getting set up for school next year.

I just finished the book today and I liked some of it but skipped some parts that seemed slow. Also, what was up with all the "his girl" stuff going on?? It seemed like Ali caught Stockholm Syndrome really quickly as soon as Dan got her out into the world, even if by force. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it!

I'm very sorry that you can't join Amanda. Unfortunatly Sanasai is running late, due to work. I've been hanging around since 18:55 and now it's 19:45 - as far as I can see, I'm still the only one of us on G+, so I'm going to call it a day and enjoy the fantastic weather with my husband.
