Everyone pretty much has their copy of the book, so I’ve decided to go ahead and get the discussion started for chapters 1-10. We’ll stay on these 10 chapters for a week, so next Saturday we will move forward with the next 10. You do not have to cover every single chapter, pick something that stood out to you. A passage or chapters that interested you, reply to other people and create a dialogue so that we can have real, meaningful, and unfiltered conversation. Let’s get started!
In chapter 2 “What We Say, Mean and Do” there were parts that really stood out to me, so from page 20 to the end of the chapter he speaks on how in relationships we say one thing, mean one thing, and then do the complete opposite.
Also, I’ve been battling in my head for awhile now, whether men and women really like each other, and a Harper talks about this in the book. What I mean by that is, I think men like vagina, and they like to have sex with us. But actually liking women as human beings and not objects that you can just penetrate I think we have a disconnect especially in this generation and in the black community. I think social media has made it to where we see the disrespect for women so much more now.
