How does Krysta's gift to see auras help her?

It enables her to anticipate vampires' moves in battle. Vampires' auras behave differently than human auras. Vampire's auras actually shift before they move. So Krysta's ability to see them allows her to anticipate their actions and know where they will strike before they actually do it. :-)
That's very cool, now it makes me wonder where she obtained her gift from? It is so different from any others. As well as Marcus his gift is very unique also.
