3. Featured Author Challenge (FAC) Janet Chapman:
Read one book written by Janet Chapman or any author with her first or last name.
Janet Chapman's Backlist
Other interesting facts about Janet Chapman:
• Janet Chapman has written 22 novels, all set in her home state of Maine.
• She lives in a cozy log home with her husband.
• She’s best known for her Highlander Series
• Her books have appeared on both the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists.
• Janet Chapman started writing for publication in 2003.
Select a book written by Janet Chapman or you can also read a book that takes place in Maine, a book about Highland clans, or a book published in 2003.
4. July 3rd: Disobedience Day:
Read a book with a sassy MC. Someone who knows his/her own mind and doesn’t mind sharing it with others. MC’s that’ll just “let loose” with their words. It could even be a MC who suffers from “verbal diarrhea”. Or maybe the MC has been in jail, something dark in his/her past. (This is not to be confused with Challenge #8. " Sassy" is what a person says; "adventuresome" is what a person does!)
5. July 4th: Sidewalk Egg Frying Day:
It’s July and, in the Northern hemisphere, at least, the temperatures are in the triple digits. Read a book that’s sizzling hot. You can pick a cover that steams you up or perhaps the words inside are panty-melting hot. Either one will work!
6. July 15th Cow Appreciation Day:
Leather, cheese, filet mignon…. what would we do without cows? Let’s celebrate cattle by reading a book with a western theme. The book may take place on a ranch or farm or perhaps a MC is a cowboy or cowgirl, maybe even a rodeo star. Your choice!
7. July 20th Moon Day:
All of us are affected by the phases of the Moon to some extent but no one more than the shapeshifters who live among us. Read a book with a shapeshifter in it or you can read any PNR book. If PNR isn’t quite your thing, you can also read a book with a dark cover, a cover with a moon on it or a cover with a naked/undressed person(s) on it (Come on, you remembering mooning, right? Not that any of us ever did such a thing).
8. July 24th Amelia Earhart Day:
(Per Wikipedia) Earhart was an aviation pioneer and author. Earhart was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She received the U.S. Distinguished Flying Cross for this record. She set many other records, wrote best-selling books about her flying experiences and was instrumental in the formation of an organization for female pilots. During an attempt to circumnavigate the globe in 1937 in an airplane, Earhart disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean; her remains have never been found.
Read a book with an adventuresome MC who likes to do dangerous and exciting things. This can either be his/her career or hobby, etc. You can pick a book with a MC who has an occupation or hobby that is traditionally dominated by the opposite sex. You can also select a book with a pilot MC, or a book with a character who travels in the story. (This is not to be confused with Challenge #4. Adventuresome is what a person does; sassy is what a person says!)
9. July is a great month to celebrate Europe:
July 14th is Bastille Day (France), July 18th is Caviar Day (Russia) and July 29th is Lasagna Day (Italy). Read a book that is either set in Europe or has a MC from Europe or who visits Europe. Or find an author from Europe!
10. Reader's Choice: Read the book of your choice.

During an attempt to circumnavigate the globe in 1937 in an airplane, Earhart disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean; her remains have never been found.
