PROLOGUE

Looking at Paris in this  light was stunning. But there was something unreal about it. 
It looked the same, yet it didn't; I couldn't put my finger on it. 
 
I hurried past the the huddled masses, looking for the old bookshop. In my younger years, I had practically lived there. Yet it was nowhere to be found. Nor were any of my other old haunts. I got a queasy feeling in my stomach. Things were out of place. 
 
 
"Wake up,wake up!", I heard the nurse  say. "You've been dreaming! We thought you'd never regain consciousness." 
 
I was stunned. I didn't remember going to the hospital. Then I learned it was 2085 ..
