Wendy (riddsgirl) | 1 comments I loved Wild by Cheryl Strayed. She really puts herself out there, pun intended, and shares all the ups and downs of her life while finding herself on the Pacific Crest trail. I found her easy to relate to and thoroughly enjoyed the read.

Kimberly [Come Hither Books] (comehitherbooks) | 13 comments I'm a desert girl, so I really liked House of Rain and Soul of Nowhere by Craig Childs. You get a sense of desolation and stark beauty in the way he describes things, and there's a lot of interesting information about archeology, geology, and other sciency stuff along the way. Most of the time he's alone, so if you're more of a solitary wanderer than a companion hiker, it'll work perfect.
