This is part of a series of books retelling Jane Austen's books, in this case Pride and Prejudice. The main action has been moved to Cincinnati. Jane and Liz have returned home from New York City after Mr. Bennet has a heart attack. Jane is a yoga instructor and Liz writes for a women's magazine. The plot follows the same general lines just set in the present day though Wickham has been split into two characters. I love Pride and Prejudice and have enjoyed some of the retellings such as Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. This version just didn't really suck me into the story. I was mostly interested in seeing how the events would be changed for the setting but otherwise wasn't that into the plot.

This was so much more chick lit than I expected. I enjoyed it from a pure brain candy perspective, but it lacked some of the more thoughtful aspects of the original.I rated it 3.5 stars but ultimately rounded up because it was a quick, fun read.
