Nathan walked onto the platform and strode onto the large train called the Hogwarts express. His Durmstrang tunic clung tightly to his tall but lean building. His old school uniform made him stick out quite a bit among all the other students clothed in billowing black robes. As he made his way down the aisle he couldn't help but look back on all the craziness that led him to this point. He had gotten mixed up in a lot of trouble at Durmstrang and something for some weird reason was out to kill him. No one was sure who or what was making the attempts on his life but it had been decided by his headmaster that it was best for him to transfer schools this year in order to protect himself. He wasn't sure how he felt about that decision yet but he respected his headmaster and had followed his wishes.

Hermione Granger walked onto the platform of the train for a Hogwarts she looked down reading her book though she wasn't paying much attention as she walked. She walked right past Nathan but looked up thinking he was Viktor embarrassingly enough she said, "I'm sorry Viktor." She wasn't a fan of crushes but Viktor and Ron have always touched her heart somewhat.

Nathan noticed the a girl long golden hair start approaching him and he looked up curiously. He had to admit she did look pretty attractive and something about her just drew him to her. He thought about saying something but before he had the chance she called him victor. For a moment he stood there confused. Then he responded. "Umm I'm sorry but I'm not Victor."

"No I'm sorry, your robes made me remember a friend Viktor Krum he goes to Drumstrung Academy as well." She admitted to him sitting down she wondered why he was at this school it was strange to see new kids at the school especially from Drumstrang.

Upon hearing her explanation Nathan nodded finally understanding. "Ah yes I know Victor quite well actually." He added. They had been acquaintances at school and had actually gotten along pretty well until Nathan beat him in a duel and usurped Victor's position as the best duelist in the school. "My name is Nathan Anderson in case you were wondering." He finished slowly hoping she would keep talking to him. He found her extremely interesting.

"It's nice to meet you, Nathan Anderson, I'm Hermione Granger." She introduced herself lifting her hand to shake his hand. "So you're going to this school?" She asked him glad to see he was at least being really nice and not arrogant.

"Nice to meet you too!" He said kindly reaching out and grasping her hand and shaking it. "Yeah I do. I just transferred this year from Durmstrang." He said smiling back at her. She seemed really nice and he liked that a lot.

She shook his hand. "Well, I hope this school year will be good for you." She said to him smiling. "We should get on the train it's going to be crazy trying to get on before it leaves." She lead him to the doors she saw Harry and Ron waving for her to hurry on. "Um do you want to sit with me and my friends?"

"Thanks." Nathan said smiling. He was really impressed by her genuine kindness. He hadn't seen a lot of that back at Durmstrang so he found it quite refreshing. "Yeah I would love too." He said smiling at her request. He just hoped her friends were as friendly and accepting as she was.

She smiled back nodding. "This way." She leads him onto the train to the carriage Harry and Ron disappeared into. "Hi, Boy's." She greeted them. They both looked up smiling. "Hey, Hermione, whose this?" They asked her at almost the same time, they were curious about the drumstrung kid.

"My name is Nathan." Nathan said smiling at them but at them the same time looking them over to make sure they weren't a threat. His training at Durmstrang had drilled him to never trust anything or anyone. "Who are you?" He asked curiously.

"Hi, Nathan it's nice to meet you." They said to him. "I'm Ron Weasely," Ron introduced himself to him. "I"m Harry Potter," Harry said looking down to avoid any crazed sequence. He didn't like to be acknowledged as the boy who lived so much.

"Nice to meet you guys" Nathan said smiling. When he heard Harry's name though he looked up to check if there was a scar on his head. When he saw it hiding behind the boys long brown hair his suspicions were confirmed. This was the boy who lived. He thought about saying something but obviously he didn't like attention so he decided against it.

"It's nice to meet you too. So why did you transfer from drumstrung?" Ron asked him curiously. Hermione sat down listening curiously to why he did transfer it was a bit odd. He smiled at him in a friendly way glad to see that he didn't get so excited he was tired of the attention. Especially from last year he read the daily prophet hating it.

Nathan secretly wondered whether what was said in the daily prophet was true. He had his own suspicions that it was since a group of people suspected of being death eaters had actually come recruiting at Durmstrang not long after Harry's supposed encounter with the dark lord. As for their inquiry into his past he felt like he could trust Hermione but the others he wasn't quite sure of yet. "Umm I just wanted a change of scenery." He lied. "I wanted to experience new ways of teaching."

"Well hopefully you'll feel satisfied with Hogwarts scenery." Ron answered. Hermione could talk to them and keep secrets if anyone needed her. But depending on how insane the secret was she was worried it might be too big for her to keep. "Did they mention what house you'll be in?" She asked Nathan curiously.

"Yeah they did actually." Nathan said slowly. "When I transferred they had me try on this hat called the sorting hat. They brought it to my home so I could do it before I left to school. I am not sure if this is a good or bad house but I was sorted into Gryffindor." He said a little uneasily hoping it was a good house and not a bad one.

They smiled. "You got into a good house. We're in it too so we will show you around." Hermione said to him smiling. A new Gryffindor from Drumstrang is great but it'll annoy the Slytherins a lot.

"Oh good." Nathan said smiling relieved that he hadn't been placed in a bad house. "Oh do you not like the Slytherin house?" He asked curiously.

"Technically Slytherin doesn't like us. Our houses have had a rivalry for a long time." She admitted. "There's also a few Slytherins that hate us." Harry mentioned hopefully Malfoy won't be giving Nathan a hard time.

"Oh I see." Nathan said thoughtfully. He was used to bullies just about all the kids at Durmstrang became one. He was itching to meet these Slytherin kids to see just how tough they thought they were.

"You'll probably meet them later when we walk to the castle. We just try not to give satisfaction to them." Hermione said quietly but the boys would react differently.

"Well I'll keep that in mind." Nathan said flashing her the best reassuring smile he could. He silently resolved to make sure that no Slytherin ever bothered Hermione again. He didn't know why but he felt slightly protective of her. Which was ridiculous since he just met her but all he same he still felt that way.

She smiled back and looked down at her book. The train ride seemed to go faster as usual. She took the daily prophet from Harry and saw the article about him and the death eaters going to Bulgaria. "Harry don't let them get to you." She assured him.

Nathan pretended to be idly staring out the window but secretly he watching Hermione. He watched the way she stared intently at her book for hours at a time and the way she she seemed to worry about Harry. He wondered if she was involved with him or Ron he desperately hoped not although he still wasn't completely sure why he was so interested in her. He couldn't stop thinking about her no matter what he tried.

Though Hermione was caring for her friends but she was focused on education instead of dating. When the train stopped she stood up, "ready to go." She asked Nathan picking up her bag.

Nathan stood when Hermione did. "Yeah I am ready." He replied and reached out and retrieved his own bag before following her out.

She lead him out walking with him to the castle with Harry and Ron following behind. When she heard a familiar voice she saw it was Malfoy. She heard him teasing Harry then calling her a mudblood.

When Nathan heard the comment he whirled around to see who would dare say such terrible things to such seemingly nice people when he saw Malfoy he glared at him.

"Whose this your new bodyguard from Krum Granger?" He snarled at her. "Back off Malfoy and leave us alone." She answered really annoyed that he was bringing back small fling from last year. "You look familiar my father was recently in Bulgaria did he see you there?" Malfoy asked him but not specifying it being in a death eater meeting.

Nathan eyed Malfoy carefully. "Yeah I think I did see you father there." Nathan said at last. "He approached me with a very interesting proposition." He added. He was itching for malfoy to make the first move he already disliked him and could tell why his new potential friends did as well.

"Hopefully, you make a decision on that proposition soon. His boss hates to wait." He smirked at him. Hermione immediately knew what they were talking about. He walked away with Crabbe and Goyle she turned to him. "Were you asked to join the death eaters is that why you came here for?" She asked Nathan shocked and in a dead serious voice.

"Yes I was asked to join the death eaters." He said quietly to Hermione. "But no that has nothing to do with why I came here." He reassure her. "And don't worry I would never even consider accepting a proposition like that.

"If Harry or Ron figure it out they will think you're a spy or something. Harry is so superstitious he doesn't want to see anyone that will turn him over to You Know Who especially after what happened last year." She whispered back. "You better hope that Malfoy doesn't spread it around or we are all going to be in danger."

"Well than we better keep it quiet, and don't worry I'll do my best to keep my Malfoy quiet." He said trying to reassure her he didn't want to worry her and he certainly didn't want one of her best friends to hate him.
