Chapter 8

Just a quick comment. (view spoiler)[ I'm actually starting to get into this book and I feel like finally we're starting to get to the point of the story as Kieran told zip about his dreams. (hide spoiler)]

Just wanted to say something because tomorrow I'll head for country side for a couple of days and the internet connection there is quite poor.

Just finished chapter 10.

About characters....

Zip: (view spoiler)[ I like her and how she seems to be such a normal teen. She doesn't have any special abilities or supernatural powers etc. and she seems to do stuff that normal teenagers do. What I don't like is that the story makes it seem like she totally abandons all her old friends to hang with the new kids. Or at least her interaction with her old friends is not described at all (hide spoiler)]

Kieran: (view spoiler)[ I kind of like him and how he's being so laid-back about his condition. I just wonder what the real deal with the dreams is. I guess there's some other point to him seeing the future in his dreams than just...well...seeing it. (hide spoiler)]

Kayla: (view spoiler)[I wish we'd get to know more about Kayla. I somehow find her a more interesting character than Kieran and Zip. But that might just be because not so much is said about her. I'm happy that she and Zip seem to be friends now :) (hide spoiler)]

I feel like the story's (view spoiler)[ just now starting to get to the point. I wonder when Zip will start having those weird dreams, too and what will come off of all that. I'm also interested to see how Zip's and Kieran's relationship will develop. (hide spoiler)]

I'm excited to see what happens next :)

I'm up to Chapter 10.


(view spoiler)[I like Kieran and Zip's friendship. It's nice how he can finally have a friend that he can trust and feel comfortable with enough to where he can talk about his dreams. I do hope they become more than friends by the end of the book. It sucks that his parents are strict. I get that it's new for him to have a friend but still they could ease off a little bit with him. Chapter 20

Here are some things that I like and some things that I'm not so thrilled about in this story right now.

I like the way (view spoiler)[ Zip and Kieran's relationship has developed. It's great that they're now an actual couple going to the prom and all. I also didn't see the adoption twist coming at all so it was a nice surprise. In addition, I'm happy for Kayla finally getting some time of her own and the Lanier parents loosening up a bit about their kids comings and goings. (hide spoiler)]

I'm not so excited about (view spoiler)[ polluting the water system/ using Zip as an experiment for the mystery substance idea. All that just seems quite far-fetched to me. I wish the story won't concentrate too much on some conspiracy theories but will keep the focus on more personal level. And I definitely hope it won't turn into Kieran's father turning up and hunting the kids in an "I'm an ax-murderer" type of chase on a prom night :D (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Since Frank was around I now wonder how long before his dad shows up. I hope they are wrong about wanting to put the stuff in the water supply. Like you, I hope prom goes good and all the drama happens afterwards. (hide spoiler)]

I'm finished. This was a nice read.


(view spoiler)[It was nice to find out that his dad was the good guy. He decided to get cleaned up and change his life. I just hope it stays that way. It sucks that they couldn't get eh formula for Kieran. However, like he said he's had to deal with his condition all his life so nothing changes. (hide spoiler)]

I was a little disappointed (view spoiler)[ there was a car chase as the story was coming to an end because Ikind of hoped there wouldn't be any chasing. (hide spoiler)]

However, I was happy that (view spoiler)[ Kieran's father turned out to be a good guy after all. I'm also happy all the conspiracy theories came to nothing in the end because they were just too unrealistic for my taste :D (hide spoiler)]

This maybe wasn't exactly my favorite genre but it was different from most of the books I've been reading lately so it was a nice change!

Chapter 10

Zip (view spoiler)[ is an atypical teen to me in that she doesn't care what others think. She appears to genuinely care about Kieran and his condition doesn't bother her. (hide spoiler)]

Kieran (view spoiler)[ is pretty cool. I can understand his total frustration being nearly 18 years old and his parents being SO protective! I had one student with narcolepsy and she ended up having to go on independent study. It's a difficult illness to live with. (hide spoiler)]

Kayla (view spoiler)[ seemed to be a hater at first but I'm glad she and Zip are seemingly becoming friends now. How sad for her and Kieran that they've never had any friends! (hide spoiler)]

Kieran's parents (view spoiler)[are far to strict on their kids! Their kids need a life, illness or not! (hide spoiler)]

Zip's mom (view spoiler)[is really a good mom. I'm glad she lets Zip have room to be a teen. She's treated the situation with Kieran well, too. (hide spoiler)]

Finished the book

I enjoyed this one. I was probably a little generous with my rating, but I'm on vacation so that might have helped. LOL

Kieran (view spoiler)[ I felt terrible for him when his parents told him he was adopted. Just my opinion, but I think it is far better to tell a child that from the get go! They can handle it and then they never have to be shocked when they find out their parents lied to them their entire life because that never settles well. I am glad, however, that they adopted him and have been good parents. I do not understand why they felt they could tell Kayla when she was only 11 and "trusted" her with all the info but didn't tell Kieran. (hide spoiler)]

Morgan (view spoiler)[was there for Kieran FINALLY, but I didn't like how he was so quickly willing to say good bye and that Kieran would never see him again. I'm not so convinced that he is such a great guy yet. He did purposely let Frank drown and I could never do that, even to a terrible person. (hide spoiler)]

The ending (view spoiler)[ was good for me for the most part, I'd rather his dad had at least talked about the possibility of building a relationship with his son. Kieran is 18 and has the right to decide that for himself, but Morgan didn't really seem to care. That bothered me. I was glad that Kieran and Zip are working things out so they can remain a couple. (hide spoiler)]

I do plan to continue the series.

I agree with you when it comes to Morgan Vicki. I think he should have shown some interest in getting to know his son. But I think they might be in contact again in the following books.

I would like to see that happen, Kiki, if Morgan is truly a changed/changing man.
