I ain't doubting your wisdom or trying to start nothin, but I think Inland Empire is the most Wakean of all the Lynchies.Oh and a hi-5 and Woot!Woot! at Tarkovsky.

Inland Empire has been sat on my to-watch list for ages but, ever since the baby and all that I have not had the space to sit down and watch it...
Tarkovsky is, in my opinion, the greatest artist to have worked in the medium of film.
I don't mean this list to be of films which are like the Wake, as these would probably be unwatchable, but which share something of the concerns, or use some similar techniques, or which just (being lazy) "feel" like the Wake.
I agree with you about Tarkovsky, and have been of this opinion ever since watching The Sacrifice many years ago with a small square of paper simmering under my tongue.Inland Empire is a giant time-hog as it requires two viewings (at least) which is many hours to put into a movie, especially if there are other human beings on this planet who expect things from you, because generally humans are more important than movies. Generally.
I also getcha about feeling like Wake, beyond just a weird-n-duzznt-make=sense kinda way.
