They're usually considered valid as a last resort - if you can find an author or list of contributors, that's preferable. Unlike standard cataloguing :)

Librarians have no control over approvals of Goodreads Author status. If you are having a problem with yours, you'll need to use the Contact Us link on the Help page. However, requests to claim corporate authors are not usually approved. As you can see from this thread, we do our best to attribute books to individuals, rather than to corporate authors.
