I read One Punch Man Volume 6 last night and am looking to read We Can Never Go Home this week (plus my backlog of weekly books)

Cupcakes & Machetes (hybridcreature) Fight Club 2, as I just met Chuck Palahniuk on tour for his release of the complete volume. :)

That's awesome! Were you able to get anything signed?

You absolutely should! It's one of my all-time favorite trades.

I just finished Captain Marvel, Vol. 1: Rise of Alpha Flight which was good but not as amazing as I'd hoped. Next up is whatever we pick for the group read and Sex Criminals, Volume 3: Three the Hard Way.

Yes. He signed FC2, plus two other items of your choice and took a photo with you. My icon is the photo that I got with him. :)

I'm avoiding finishing Rainbow in the Dark by Comfort Love and Adam Withers. It's wonderful and there's only one trade, so I don't want to be done with it.

I need to catch up with Saga, Hinterkind, Locke & Key, and Sandman (there's just so much.) I have an issue of Lady Mechanica to read, and I'm absurdly upset that Cry Havoc is over.

Crumpets&Arsenic | 24 comments Just finished volume 6 in the Locke and Key series by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez. I really enjoyed it, and I especially enjoyed the series as a whole. Probably going to starting reading volume 2 of The Legend of Luther Strode this weekend. :)

lol I know that feeling of avoiding finishing a series because you don't want it to be over. I just recently did the same thing with the Locke & Key series by Joe Hill. I read volume 5 back in April and only just now read volume 6 for the exact same reason. Nice to know other people do it too! :P

Lindsey | 5 comments I recently read Spider-Woman: Shifting Gears, Vol. 1: Baby Talk, which I really enjoyed! And currently reading Death Vigil, Vol. 1!

message 16: by Dianna (new)

Dianna | 4 comments I just finished Paul Dini's graphic novel Dark Night: A True Batman Story and found it fascinating. I'm reviewing it for a local comic book store. I feel that Dini shows guts by putting this story out there. Not sure I would have been able to do the same.

Wayland Smith | 263 comments Pretty much anything by Jason Aaron. His Thor and Star Wars are really impressive.

DC's Rebirth has me more excited in their books then I have been since the giant clusterfuck reboot a few years ago. So far really liking Nightwing, Green Arrow, Birds of Prey, and Aquaman.

I like a lot of Dynamite's licensed work, but I think the only ones I'm getting from them now are Lone Ranger/Green Hornet and Shadow: Death of Margo Lane.

I gave up on all the X-Books a while back. Marvel-wise, I'm getting All New All Different Avengers, Ms Marvel, Thor, Mockingbird (amazingly good!) and Power Man and Iron Fist.

And, one of my all time goofy favorites is back in comics.... the Terror That Flaps In The Night... DARKWING DUCK!

Lol! I use to watch Darkwing Duck as a kid. Is the comic drawn similarly to the 90's cartoon?

Also, I couldn't agree more about Mockingbird! I try to buy the first issue of any Marvel comic they give to a female hero, whether they're taking on an old mantel, like Thor, or expanding an existing character like Mockingbird (except anything Spider-verse, because I am staunchly anti-arachnid. The spider theme gives me the creeps). That's how I first picked Mockingbird up, knowing next to nothing about her character, and I was absolutely hooked from the first issue. I can't wait for this week's book to finish out the arc.

I also absolutely agree about Aaron's Star Wars, though I'm reading those in trade from the library, so I am way behind.

Wayland Smith | 263 comments Kate, Mockingbird is fantastic. The humor and twists are great. I love that book.

Darkwing Duck is very similar to the show. If you liked that, you'll probably enjoy the comic. I sure am. Issue 3 had files on various villains with Darkwing's comments attached. Very entertaining.

Jaclyn Hogan | 1 comments I've got the first volume of Tom King's Vision series from the library. His Grayson series is fun, so I'm looking forward to it. I second Jason Aaron. He's actually from my home town, and some of the views in Southern Bastards are taken right from downtown.

That's so cool re: your home town!

Vision is my favorite book right now. I cannot recommend it enough!
