Anyone have a halfway update? Are you pleased with your progress? Any thought about the challenge thus far?

Including the "Extra Credit" books, I've read 103/109. Of the last six categories remaining, I've got four books in process. The only two categories I haven't started yet are #78 - Book about the natural world and #99 - Book about ancient history.Of the books I've read for this challenge, 30 were audio books and 52 were e-books. The longest book I've read for the challenge was Les Misérables as "A novel set in a country that is not your own." The shortest book was probably November Twenty Six Nineteen Hundred Sixty Three as "A book by an author less than 30."
For the challenge, I've read three books by Wendell Berry, three by John Piper, two by Jane Austen, two by Timothy Keller, two by C.S. Lewis, two by Charles Dickens, and two by Lois Lowry.
I read a very good book about Mr. Rogers The Simple Faith of Mister Rogers, which caused me to read a book by Mr. Rogers Let's Talk About It: Divorce as well as one of Mr. Rogers' favorite books The Little Prince.
I read a book by Oscar Wilde The Picture of Dorian Gray and a book about Oscar Wilde Sense and Sensuality: Jesus Talks to Oscar Wilde on the Pursuit of Pleasure.
My least favorite book was As a Man Thinketh, which I read for Category #46 "A self-improvement book."
I gave five stars to 44 books. I guess I'm generous.
Of the books I read for the challenge, I look back and see that I added five of them to my "Favorites" bookshelf:
Christianity and Liberalism
Les Misérables
The Loveliness Of Christ
God's Trombones: Seven Negro Sermons in Verse
A Christmas Carol
It's been fun. I've read a lot of good books.

I'm a little disappointed in my standings. I picked Light Read and I haven't even made it to halfway status yet. I am participating in two other groups and have challenges with those as well, so that's pulled me away from this challenge a bit. I'm going to focus more on this one, though, for the remainder of the year.
Well, I thought of be lucky if I could squeak thru with 30 books total as if I read 5 in a year I'm doing well. I've passed the 30 mark and upped my goal to 40! This challenge has been wonderful for me and I've stopped watching TV all together. Ahhhh....
At the 1/2-way mark this year, I've logged in 31 books of various (favorites for me) categories. As a history buff, political junkie, and Luther-groupie, I've managed to feed my addictions. I just upped my goal to 40 (from 35) and we'll see how things go as time goes by. My Kindle library, LOGOS library and my hard-copy library continue to expand so I'm sure I'll keep reading. After all, the political crapola season is upon us and that will definitely entice my addiction for political junk until November.
I'm happy with how I've done so far. I've read 25 books and my goal is 40, so I think I should make it without too much trouble. The challenge has been broad enough to allow me to find categories to finish the Harry Potter series I started last year, but varied enough that I have sought out books I otherwise wouldn't have. It's also helped me to think more about reading, volunteer to organize my church library, and keep more up-to-date on what's new. I'm grateful!
Am finding myself slowing the pace a bit (there is work and other "life-related" diversions to be considered!) I did double my goal after a strong start in midwinter... may have been optimistic to tackle a book a week. I have appreciated browsing the "members list" and noting current reads. Thus have located a few treasures I would not otherwise be aware of. Certainly a "gift" of the challenge is seeking books outside my "typical" genres... also have rediscovered a delight in juvenile fiction which tempers my new foray into more academic and theological themes....I have incorporated audio books and gathered several "bargains" on e-reader, but realize I MUCH prefer the printed page
I started out the year with a low goal, and keep increasing it as the months go by and I meet my goal. I know I won't read all the books simply because I know there are categories I will not be reading. But it's fun to keep on reading and see which categories I do end up reading. I think I've read 55 books so far for this challenge.
I originally set my goal at 40. I eventually increased it to 53 and then to 75. I've read 54. I'm pleased with how I'm doing since I've done more than I originally planned, while also working on lots of challenges in another group. I'm enjoying the challenge. I've read some books I probably would not have read, at least not anytime soon, had I not be participating in this challenge.
My goal was 30 and I just finished my 16th book. So far I've enjoyed the challenge. I wish I could read more quickly, so I could get through all of the categories! I need my teen daughter's capabilities. She easily puts away a book a day.
I'm on track to hit 104 by the end of the year. This challenge has been great so far. Here is the halfway update I put on Facebook: https://m.facebook.com/notes/isaac-ba...
