A recent book on the fight for Monte Cassino that I really enjoyed was this book:

Monte Cassino: Ten Armies in Hell by Peter Caddick-Adams

Others titles of interest:

Cassino: The Hollow Victory: The Battle for Rome January-June 1944 by John Ellis

Monte Cassino: The Hardest-Fought Battle of World War II by Matthew Parker
