Bumping this thread because over herehttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Richard calls him (and I quote) "a.maze.balls".
Here's the wikipedia ::

And it would appear he does have a novel, Jonoah and the Green Stone IF you've got 75 bucks.
The Coffee House collection :: Echo Tree: The Collected Short Fiction of Henry Dumas appears to be oop.
oh and check it out, an essay on Jonoah ::"“Jonoah and the Green Stone”: A Novel by Henry Dumas -- Despite his literary brilliance, Dumas became a tragic symbol of young black men slain by police."

Ebay had a copy of Jonoah and the Green Stone for $15 a couple of days ago. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Jonoah-The-G...

Black fiction and poetry writer. Shot by a policeman in 1968, when he was just 33. "But in those thirty-three years he had completed work the quality and quantity of which are almost never achieved in several lifetimes," claims Toni Morrison. You can read the full NPR article on him here.
His most famous book, Echo Tree: The Collected Short Fiction of Henry Dumas has only 33 ratings on Goodreads. He only had a few things published during his life, but has mostly been published posthumously. Seems like an interesting guy, and worth way more readers than he currently has.
